Pottery Workshops in Bandra: Create Your Own Ceramics
Whether you want to try the wheel or hand-build your own mugs, my studio in Pali Hill is a space to slow down and create something real. No experience is needed, just bring yourself.
A peek into the daily rhythm of the studio. The process involves centering clay on the wheel, rolling out slabs for hand-building, and carefully painting each piece before it goes into the kiln. It's a mindful practice from start to finish.
Here is a little behind the scenes look at what goes into a workshop. It starts with teaching the technique, then applying glaze to the dried pieces, and finally, carefully packing each creation for you to enjoy at home.
This is one of my favorite techniques to teach, marbling with colored clay. You can see how we mix the clay to create beautiful patterns and then hand-build simple, elegant teacups. Each piece comes out completely unique.
Our wall art workshops are a great way to spend a Sunday. I guide you through texturing and sculpting techniques to create a beautiful piece of ceramic art for your home. It’s a relaxing and rewarding process.
About The Creative Journey: From Clay to Keepsake
Pottery is a slow process, and that is the best part. When you make a piece in our session, it does not just go home with you immediately. After you finish, I handle the drying, trimming, professional glazing, and two separate kiln firings to ensure your creation is food and microwave safe. This attention to detail means your finished piece will be ready for you to collect about four weeks later.
Whether you are joining for a private event, a corporate team-building session, or just a quiet afternoon for yourself, the focus is always on the process. We do not worry about perfection here. If a piece does not turn out the way you hoped, we simply recycle the clay and start again.
What we cover in our workshops
- Hand-building: We use techniques like pinching, coiling, and slabs to create unique mugs, bowls, and plates. It is tactile and very forgiving for beginners.
- Wheel Throwing: This is the classic experience of centering clay on a spinning wheel. It requires focus and rhythm, and it is incredibly rewarding when you finally get that clay to rise.
- Creative Play: From marbling colored clay to surface texturing, we explore different ways to add your personal touch.
All my workshops, whether at my green-house style studio in Pali Hill or at your office venue, include the complete journey. I provide all the materials, aprons, and tools. Once the session ends, I take over the technical production. This includes the delicate steps of drying, trimming, applying professional glazes, and double-firing in the kiln. This ensures your work is food-safe and durable enough for daily use. Because of this necessary cycle, your finished ceramics will be ready for collection about four weeks after your workshop.
