Meet the Family Behind the Flavour
I am Gurdeep, and this is the story of how my kitchen became a playground. At 60, I turned my love for traditional recipes into Pikkle Shikkle, with my husband, Ekbal, by my side for every step.
This is me, holding a jar of my homemade pickle. It brings me so much joy to share the flavours I grew up with, made the right way without any shortcuts.
A candid moment of me explaining the unique taste of one of our pickles. Each jar holds a story and a recipe passed down through generations.
Here I am with my husband, Ekbal Singh, at one of our stalls. Pikkle Shikkle is a family affair, and his support has been my biggest strength on this journey.
A proud moment for us, standing behind a table full of products we made with our own hands. We love seeing our hard work ready for our customers.
"Ek baar ye Lemon crush try karke dekho, guarantee hai aapko pasand aayega." This is what I tell my customers, because I have full confidence in my recipes.
It was wonderful to be featured by Digital Gone Easy. Here I am, sharing my story and the passion behind our homemade Punjabi flavours.
Packing an order for a customer at our stall. It's a simple, happy moment that makes all the hard work worthwhile.
A short video of me interacting with a customer at our market stall. A smile and a good conversation are just as important as the pickle itself.
Listening to customers and letting them sample the products is the best part of my day. You can see the genuine reaction when they taste something truly authentic.

About Meet the Family Behind the Flavour
When you see us at a Bangalore market stall, you aren't just buying a jar—you’re sampling a recipe I’ve been perfecting for decades. My husband, Ekbal, and I believe you should never buy food blind; that’s why we insist you taste our Mathri or pickles before you decide. We want you to be as sure of the quality as we are.
Starting Pikkle Shikkle at 60 was never about building a massive empire; it was about keeping the tradition of 'ghar ka swaad' (homely taste) alive. Everything we make, from our dry masala kachori to the preservative-free jams, starts in our home kitchen in Nagavarapalya. We don't use machines to cut or mix—everything is hand-rolled and sun-dried, exactly how I learned it growing up.
We source fresh, local ingredients from Bangalore markets to ensure that 'Tadka Punjab Da!' remains authentic. When you order from us, you get exactly what my own family eats: no artificial colours, no preservatives, and definitely no palm oil. Whether it’s our flaky, ajwain-spiced Mathri or our bite-sized Kachoris, we focus on the integrity of the ingredients.
We understand that buying food online can be a gamble. That’s why we bring our kitchen to you. If you catch us at a local bazaar, come say hello. We love sharing the stories behind our recipes and, more importantly, letting you try the batches before they’re packed. If you can’t make it to a market, we ship our fresh batches across India, packed carefully to keep that homemade crunch intact. It’s personal, it’s transparent, and it’s always made with love.

I’m Gurdeep Kaur, the Punjabi Aunty who decided retirement wasn't for me. My kitchen is where the magic happens, and Ekbal is the one making sure our pickles and snacks reach you safely. We aren't a factory; we are a family sharing what we eat at home.
