The Pickle Pockle Story: Authentic Homemade Preserves
A glimpse into the kitchen where tradition meets taste. Here is how I keep old family recipes alive with every batch.
This is me in my favourite place, the kitchen. Pickle Pockle is my passion, born from a love for traditional food and family recipes.
This is a behind-the-scenes look at me mixing a large batch of Andhra Tomato Chutney in a traditional brass pot (kadai). This is how I ensure authentic flavour.
Stirring the Andhra Tomato Chutney as it cooks. The slow-cooking process helps all the flavours of the spices and fire-roasted tomatoes meld together perfectly.
Here I am mixing a fresh batch of Ginger Lime (Nimbu Adrak) pickle before jarring it. It's a simple, delicious, and healthy pickle that's great for digestion.

I was so proud to see my Pickle Pockle products displayed at the legendary 'Taste' store in Defence Colony, Delhi. You can now find my pickles in select retail stores.

About The Pickle Pockle Story
Everything I make in my New Friends Colony kitchen follows the same slow process I grew up with. Whether it's the Andhra Tomato Chutney simmering in a heavy-bottomed brass kadai or the seasonal Gobi Gajar Shalgam being sun-dried to perfection, there are no shortcuts. I prepare these in small quantities specifically so that every jar you receive has that exact home-cooked taste, with no chemical preservatives, artificial colors, or artificial heat acceleration.
Traditional Methods, Modern Kitchen
Pickle Pockle started with a simple idea: bringing the taste of my grandmother's kitchen to yours. I believe that real flavor takes time. That is why I stick to traditional fermentation and sun-drying techniques for my vegetable pickles. When you order a jar of Punjabi Ramkela Aam or our winter-special Gobi Gajar Shalgam, you are getting produce that has been treated with care, matured in cold-pressed mustard oil, and jarred in sterilized glass to keep it fresh without chemicals.
Freshness by Design
Because I avoid preservatives, I don't believe in stocking piles of inventory. My meat pickles, like mutton, pork belly, and chicken, are made strictly on-demand. This is why I ask for a 24-48 hour notice for these orders—it ensures the meat texture is perfect and the flavors are punchy rather than rubbery.
Beyond the Jar
While I am well-known for traditional favorites like Gurmirchi, my kitchen is also where I experiment with Goan curry pastes and fresh salad dressings. I source quality ingredients for everything, including the toddy vinegar for my pastes and olive oil for my emulsions. You can find a selection of these products at 'The Taste' store in Defence Colony, but ordering directly through me ensures you get the freshest batch straight from my counter. Whether you are looking for a nostalgic taste of home or a quick, authentic addition to your daily meals, I am here to share the best of what I make.
Pickle Pockle
I'm Aarti, and I make pickles the way I grew up eating them—without any shortcuts. Whether it's my granny's Gurmirchi recipe or a new batch of pork belly pickle, I believe food should be honest, seasonal, and full of flavor. I make everything in small, fresh batches right here in my kitchen, just for you.
