Wekins Homemade: The Journey Behind Our Traditional Pickles
We aren't a factory. We are a family sharing 25 years of mother-son traditions in every jar of authentic achaar.
The jars may have changed from the old mitti ki barni, but the love and taste inside are still the same. This is a journey from 1995 to today, keeping tradition alive.
After 25 years, my mother, Rashmi Anand, decided to do something of her own. She started small, using the pickling skills she learned as a teenager.
I saw a bigger vision for what my mom was creating. I decided to join her, combining her traditional skills with a plan to build a brand.
Together, as a mother-son team, we turned that small spark into a growing brand. We got certified, built processes, and scaled our homemade dream step by step.
From our home kitchen to national television. Here is our co-founder on Doordarshan's Vichar Vimarsh, discussing food processing and the future of Indian flavors.
It was an honor to represent young entrepreneurs in India's food industry. This clip shows highlights from our feature on Doordarshan.
This journey has been about entrepreneurship, innovation, and authentic Indian taste. It's a story of turning homemade recipes into a growing food brand.
About this collection
Everything here is a product of sun-drying and hand-mixing, not machine processing. We follow the exact methods Rashmi, my mother, used in her home kitchen back in 1995, ensuring that every jar carries the authentic, slow-cooked taste of traditional Indian pickles without artificial preservatives.
When my mother, Rashmi Anand, started making pickles decades ago, she never imagined it would become a brand. It began with simple, seasonal produce and family recipes passed down from her mother-in-law. For years, these pickles were reserved for family dinners and close friends.
I joined her when I saw a bigger vision—to take that 'ghar ka swad' (taste of home) out of our kitchen and into yours. We scaled our operations, but we refused to scale our methods. We still sun-dry our mangoes for the Ramkela pickle and hand-pound our masalas for the Lehsun Chutney. This approach caught the attention of experts, leading us to share our journey on Doordarshan's Vichar Vimarsh, where we discussed the future of authentic food processing in India.
We know you are tired of factory-made jars filled with chemicals. That is why we use high-grade PET jars and induction sealing to lock in the flavor and shelf life naturally. Whether it is our spicy Rajasthani garlic chutney or our sweet Amla Murabba, you are getting food made with the same care my mom puts into her own pantry.
Wekins Homemade
I'm Manu, and along with my mom, Rashmi, I run this kitchen. We've spent years perfecting the balance of masalas so you get a taste that actually feels like home. We make small batches, so what you order is always fresh.
