Starting Pikkle Shikkle at 60 was my second innings. It began with just a few jars and a big dream to share real, preservative-free Punjabi flavours with all of you in Bengaluru.

An artist's beautiful illustration of our bustling market stall. It perfectly captures the happy, community feeling we love so much.

I was so happy to be featured by Digital Gone Easy. It is always wonderful when people share our story.

We were thrilled to see our Pikkle Shikkle jam featured in a newspaper advertisement for Qtrove.com, a shop for good things.

It was a proud moment to see our product in print. This feature helped more people discover our all-natural jams.

A behind-the-scenes look at our label design process from the early days. We wanted our packaging to be as colourful and happy as our food.

Designing the labels for our jars was an exciting step. We put a lot of thought into creating a look that felt homemade and cheerful.

This is what our workspace looked like in the beginning. A laptop, some handwritten notes, and a jar of our product. Every business starts with an idea.

A throwback to the early days of managing our Facebook page and taking orders. We have come a long way since then.

Our first batch of jars, with special "Canned with Love" labels. This was the beginning of our journey.

We started with small batches, making sure each jar was filled with love and the best ingredients.

About Our Journey & Milestones

When I started Pikkle Shikkle, it wasn't about building a factory. It was about filling jars with the kind of 'ghar ka swaad' (homemade taste) I grew up with. Every label you see on our jars today, every market stall we set up, and every batch of jam we slow-cook is a milestone for my husband Ekbal and me. We moved from handwritten notes on our laptop to seeing our jars on store shelves, but the heart of it remains the same: 100% natural ingredients, zero preservatives, and a lot of love packed into every single batch.

We started this journey in our Bengaluru home kitchen with a simple idea: good food shouldn't contain artificial chemicals. At 60, I didn't want to retire; I wanted to recreate the memories of our family recipes. My husband Ekbal and I have spent the last five years sourcing fresh, local produce and sun-drying everything in small batches.

Whether it's our Apple Cinnamon jam or a spicy Mango pickle, you won't find pectin or artificial colours here. We handle the process from start to finish—washing, chopping, and slow-cooking until it tastes just right.

Seeing Pikkle Shikkle grow has been surreal. From designing our first labels at the kitchen table to meeting wonderful people at flea markets across Bengaluru like Cashews & More, it has been a community effort. We have been fortunate to have our work featured in publications like Qtrove, which just confirmed that people really do miss the taste of real, homemade food. When you buy a jar, you aren't just buying pickles or jam; you are supporting a dream that Ekbal and I have built, one batch at a time. If you want to see our workspace or talk about our ingredients, come visit us at a market. We love meeting you in person.

I am the Punjabi Aunty, and I run Pikkle Shikkle with my husband, Ekbal. At 60, I turned my kitchen into my playground, slow-cooking small batches of traditional pickles and jams just like 'ghar ka achaar'. We believe in natural, preservative-free food, and we'd love for you to try a sample first.
