Custom cakes in Bengaluru

How to build the link

• Start from https://mytribe.in/parties-occasions/custom-cakes-in-bengaluru and add fields after ?, joined with &. Encode each value, so spaces become + or %20.
• Every field is optional. Fields the page doesn't know are ignored, and so are values that aren't on a field's list.
• Values are cut at 200 characters. Anything that looks like a phone number is dropped, so never put one in. No email addresses or house addresses either: area is a locality, never an address.
• The page reads the link in the browser after it loads. If you fetch the link without running JavaScript you get the plain page. Your user's phone shows the page made for them.
• Prices are estimates for the cake alone. The baker confirms the price, and delivery is extra.
• Tapping Get this cake sends a WhatsApp message to mytribe with the cake and everything the link set. mytribe connects them with the baker. There's no booking, advance or fee on the page.

Make it their own page

When you know who the cake is for, add type=user and their details. The page then opens as theirs: the heading reads "Unicorn cakes for Riya" with their name in colour, a line says "Picked by mytribe for you, near HSR Layout", their details sit under it as chips, and their notes show in a "Your notes" card. Below that come "Our top picks for you", four cakes with up to three reasons each (Tribe-approved bakers first), then the rest of the cakes that fit. The filters start set from the link. The sections written for search engines are left out, and the page isn't indexed.

type

user, listinguser makes it their own page, as above. listing titles the page by theme and area ("Unicorn cakes near HSR Layout") and is meant for ads. Leave it out for the plain page with the filters applied.

name

Their first nameGoes in the heading ("Unicorn cakes for Riya"). Without it the heading reads "Unicorn cakes picked for you". The WhatsApp message they send starts "Hi! I'm Riya."

for

Who it's for and the occasion, in a few wordsShown as a chip. "her daughter's 5th birthday" reads "Your daughter's 5th birthday": her, his, my, our and their all become your. When there's no occasion field the page picks the occasion from these words, so a 5th birthday picks Kids birthday and a 50th picks Milestone birthday.

theme

The theme in their wordsGoes in the heading ("Unicorn cakes for Riya"). When there's no style field it also picks the closest theme filter: unicorn, princess, superhero, cartoon names like Peppa Pig or Bluey, jungle, dinosaur, space and so on. Use it on a personal page even when you also set style, or the heading reads "Custom cakes".

Their wishes, in the first person, as they'd say themShown in the "Your notes" card and sent with every request, so the baker reads it too. Write it the way they would ("I want pastel colours and no fondant. My daughter loves unicorns."), never "the customer wants". It never filters, except that "no fondant" or "cream only" keeps fondant cakes out of the top picks. Up to 1,200 characters; put one point per line (%0A in the link) and they show as bullets.

Filter the cakes

These work with or without type=user. Each one narrows the cakes, and they all apply together. Tribe-approved bakers come first in every order.

kg

0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5Every price is shown for this size. Cakes that start up to half a kilo bigger stay in, priced at their own smallest size, so kg=1 also shows cakes from 1.5 kg. Cakes that start bigger than that are hidden: two tiers start at 2 kg, three tiers at 3 kg. Bento cakes are 300 to 600 g and priced per cake.

budget

Rupees for the whole cake, like 3000The most they want to spend at the chosen size. Hides cakes whose estimate starts above it. On a personal page it shows as a chip ("Up to ₹3,000").

min

Rupees for the whole cakeHides cakes whose estimate tops out below it.

price

under-1800, 1800-3000, over-3000under-1800 is under ₹1,800 a kg, 1800-3000 is ₹1,800 to ₹3,000 a kg, over-3000 is over ₹3,000 a kg. Use budget instead when you know their total.

Search wordsMatches each cake's theme, caption, description, toppers and tags, and forgives one typo. Good for a character, a flavour, a colour or an object: q=pista, q=spiderman, q=lavender. It applies together with the other filters, so leave out style unless you want both.
