About Kusti: The Art of Indian Wrestling
Kusti isn't just about raw muscle, it is about leverage, patience, and mental control. When you train with us in the traditional mud pit, you learn to manipulate an opponent's weight and center of gravity, which builds a foundation for all grappling sports. We don't just teach the moves, we respect the soil and the ritual of the Dangal, which builds a different kind of toughness than a gym floor ever could.
Kusti, or traditional Indian wrestling, is a test of character as much as it is a physical sport. At Panthers Combat Club, we keep the spirit of the Dangal alive because it teaches lessons that apply outside the pit. Whether you are working on your takedowns or defending against a throw, you are training your mind to stay calm under pressure.
Our training environment is designed for those who want to understand the roots of grappling. We focus on:
- Technique over brute force: Mastering the specific holds and escapes that have been used for generations.
- The Mud Pit: Training in a traditional pit builds grip strength and leg stability that modern gyms struggle to replicate.
- Mental Discipline: As I tell my students, the greatest weapon is the mind. We train to ensure you can fall, get up, and keep fighting.
We welcome anyone, from beginners who have never wrestled to experienced fighters looking to refine their ground game. Located in Jayanagar 7th Block, we provide a space where traditional wrestling meets our modern approach to combat sports. If you are ready to sweat, learn, and push your limits, come to our club and see what real training looks like.
