About Advanced Asanas & Alignment
Many people think advanced poses are only for the super-flexible, but that is a myth. In our studio, we use blocks and wall support to safely break down complex asanas like Trivikramasana. You will see us using props to build shoulder stability for headstands or to help students open their hips slowly. Our approach is hands-on; we stand by you to adjust your posture, ensuring you feel stable before you ever try a full extension.
True advancement in yoga does not come from forcing your body into a shape; it comes from understanding the mechanics of the movement. In our Advanced Asanas sessions, we strip away the intimidation factor. Whether you are aiming to master Sirsasana (Headstand) or deepen your Trivikramasana (Standing Splits), our method is rooted in proper alignment and safety.
We emphasize the concept of Sthira—steadiness—in every pose. If you are struggling with inversions, we teach you how to use yoga blocks to create a stable foundation for your shoulders. This prevents neck strain and builds the specific muscle memory required for balance. For standing poses, we focus on hip rotation and hamstring engagement, helping you find your limit without pain.
Since we are an accredited Yoga Alliance school, our alignment training is rigorous. You aren't just learning to copy a shape you saw on social media; you are learning how to safely move your body and, eventually, how to guide others to do the same. We keep our batches at the Shakarpur studio small so that we can walk over to your mat and make those micro-adjustments that make all the difference. If you have been practicing for a while and feel like you have hit a plateau, this is where you break through—with patience, practice, and the right tools.
