A glimpse into our own studio, Ochre Architects. The space is a direct reflection of our design philosophy, with exposed concrete, multi-level volumes, and an emphasis on natural light and greenery.

About Our Studio & Details

The Slate House seen from the street, showing the layering of its facade. The design uses post-tensioned slabs to achieve column-free interior spaces, while the exterior is articulated with ultra-high-performance concrete fins that provide shade and visual rhythm.
The building's design actively engages with the large rain tree on the site. The structure is set back, and the staggered balconies are positioned to offer different views of the tree, making it a central part of the architectural experience.
The staggered balconies create opportunities for informal interaction and provide employees with a direct connection to the outdoors. The vertical concrete fins offer privacy and solar shading without obstructing the views of the surrounding trees.

Our new space, Studio 2.0, is designed to foster collaboration, socialization, and focus. This area, with its long kitchen island and tiered wooden seating, serves as the social heart of our studio, a place for informal conversations and shared meals.

This is the Split House, a project where I focused on creating a seamless connection with nature. The floating staircase is surrounded by indoor plants and bathed in sunlight from a large skylight, turning a simple transition into a serene experience.8
For the Amber Encase clubhouse, I used a bold, monochromatic yellow to create an immersive and energetic corridor. The reflective ceiling doubles the impact of the color, making the space feel endless and dynamic.
I believe light is a building material. In the House Above The Tree, I designed a perforated *jaali* screen that casts intricate, moving patterns on the walls, creating a living artwork that changes throughout the day.
In the double-height dining area of the Split House, a large wooden bridge connects the upper floors. This feature, combined with indoor trees and a massive skylight, blurs the line between inside and out, making the home feel like a part of the landscape.

Where geometry meets elegance. This space features an intricate, geometric false ceiling that serves as a statement of art, depth, and craftsmanship.32
Curved geometry meets tactile design. This bathroom, lined with blue mosaic tiles and topped with a curved skylight, brings light, texture, and spatial drama together.
Sustainable architecture at its finest. This rammed earth structure blends seamlessly into the landscape, reflecting the very earth it rises from.

This is the House of Canopies, a biophilic home in Bangalore where cantilevered concrete roofs create deep, protective overhangs. We designed these not just as shelter, but as elements that sculpt light and frame views, connecting the home's raw concrete structure with the lush garden surrounding it.8
Inside the House of Canopies, a triple-height living area dissolves into the garden through floor-to-ceiling glass. The polished concrete floor reflects the changing daylight from the skylight above, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that makes the space feel alive.

The interior of Mr. Vinay's residence features a central courtyard under a skylight. The floating staircase with its glass railing allows light to pass through, keeping the space bright and open.
A glamorous and moody interior we designed for fashion designer Saniya Sardhariya's dance and fashion studio. The space features a custom curved desk, a dramatic chain chandelier, and dark, textured walls to create a unique and inspiring atmosphere.
