Himalayan Yoga & Trekking Retreats
Practice above the clouds and find your balance on the trail. I combine vigorous mountain yoga with wild, nature-filled treks to help you disconnect from city noise and reconnect with yourself.
In the high altitudes of Arunachal Pradesh, the world feels different. Standing by the pristine Sela Pass lake, surrounded by majestic peaks, is a humbling experience that truly takes your breath away.
A look back at my summer adventures in the Himalayas. From joyful hikes through green valleys to quiet moments of rest on a sun-warmed rock, this is what it means to reconnect with nature on our Hamta trek.
Holding a pose as the sun creates a perfect ray of light feels like channeling energy directly from the source. This is a moment of pure connection during a sunset yoga session in the Himachal hills.
The Gyan mudra in this Reverse Warrior pose signifies knowledge and concentration. Practicing it against the backdrop of a Himalayan sunset helps to focus the mind and absorb the wisdom of the mountains.
On a clifftop in Munnar, with the world stretching out below, even a simple warrior variation feels powerful. The expansive view and open sky encourage a sense of freedom and strength in the body and mind.
A close-up of a warrior pose during a mountain sunset. The focus here is on the alignment and the mudra, a quiet moment of intention as the day ends and the sky puts on a spectacular show.
A deep backbend under a mossy stone archway in the Binsar forest. This practice of opening the heart space feels even more profound when you are surrounded by the quiet, ancient energy of the woods.
Using the beautiful architecture of a Keralan resort to support a standing backbend. This shows how we can find opportunities for yoga everywhere, blending our practice with the beauty of our surroundings.
A flowing warrior pose in a tranquil courtyard in Kerala. With a Ganesha statue watching over, this practice becomes a moving meditation, connecting us to the spiritual heritage of the land.
There's a profound sense of peace that comes from being in the vast, open landscapes of Hamta Pass. Watching the sheep graze in the green meadows, I am reminded of the simple, wonderful world we live in.
About Himalayan Yoga & Treks
My retreats are not just about passive stretches; we pair 90-minute vigorous Ashtanga or Hatha flows with challenging, moderate-to-difficult grade treks. You will need decent stamina for our daily hikes in places like Hamta Pass, but do not worry if you are not an advanced yogi—I provide props and modifications for every session to keep you comfortable and aligned.
Think of this as a reset button rather than a holiday. When I take my yoga fam to the mountains, we are not just doing asana; we are living the practice. Our mornings start with vigorous flow sessions to build strength and heat, while our evenings are dedicated to pranayama, dhyana (meditation), and philosophy discussions under the open sky.
Life on the Trail
We stay in eco-homestays, wooden cottages, or weather-proof tents depending on the route. It is rustic but comfortable, with western toilets in homestays and dry pit facilities during high-altitude treks. We provide 3 pure vegetarian Sattvic meals daily, keeping your energy up with nuts, energy bars, and herbal tea during our hikes through the Himalayas, Binsar forests, or the valleys of Uttarakhand.
Why This Matters
Yoga is about stability, both inside and out. By combining deep backbends and restorative poses with the physical challenge of a Himalayan trek, you learn to trust your body’s capacity to handle both stillness and movement. Whether you are a beginner or a regular, we use props to help you find your depth. You will leave with new friends, sore muscles, and a clearer mind. Come ready to get a little messy, laugh, and show up for yourself.
