Bharatanatyam Performances and My Artistic Journey
Namaskaram. Bharatanatyam is my prayer, and sharing these performances with you is how I offer that devotion. Here, you will find details of my upcoming recitals and the stories that define my path as a dancer and disciple.
An invitation to my Bharatanatyam Margam for the Ninada Nrityotsava. I am always grateful for the opportunity to present the choreographies of my Guru.
The official announcement for a 'Double Bill' performance in Mangaluru. Sharing the stage with another artist is a wonderful experience of artistic exchange.
About this collection
My performances are not merely events but invitations to a devotional space. Whether performing a traditional Margam or a collaborative Double Bill, I aim to maintain the sanctity of the Thanjavur Bani style. When you attend, you will experience the technical precision of Nritta paired with the emotional depth of Abhinaya, always accompanied by a live Carnatic music ensemble.
The Art of the Performance
For me, the stage is where Sadhana (practice) meets Samarpana (offering). Each recital I present is a continuation of the guidance I receive from my Guru, Sri P. Praveen Kumar. I focus on bringing the Thanjavur Bani style to life, ensuring that the rhythm of the Nattuvangam and the melody of the vocalists blend seamlessly with my movements.
Upcoming Recitals and Past Moments
I believe in transparency and community, which is why I share my performance announcements directly. From recent shows like the 'Double Bill' in Mangaluru to solo recitals at festivals like Ninada Nrityotsava, my goal is to make classical dance accessible. These events allow me to explore thematic storytelling, bringing ancient compositions to modern stages in Bengaluru and beyond.
Why Live Music Matters
In my performances, I prioritize live ensembles. The interplay between the dancer and musicians—vocal, Mridangam, Veena, and Flute—creates an immersive experience that recorded tracks cannot replicate. This is the heart of the tradition I was trained in at the Chithkala School of Dance. If you are interested in hosting a classical dance recital or learning more about the repertoire I perform, please feel free to reach out. I am always happy to discuss the nuances of Bharatanatyam with fellow art enthusiasts.
Navyashree K N
I am Navyashree, a Bharatanatyam dancer and disciple of Guru Sri P. Praveen Kumar. I founded Bharathadyuthi Arts Center in Naagarabhaavi, Bengaluru, to nurture students in the authentic Thanjavur Bani style. My goal is to keep the devotion of our classical arts alive, one performance and one student at a time.
