About Yoga Dance: Where Movement Meets Masti
You don't need to be a dancer or a pro yogi to join us. Our sessions are designed for real women with real lives, often blending simple Surya Namaskars with upbeat Bollywood tracks or festive Garba beats to get your heart rate up without it feeling like a grueling gym workout. It’s about letting go of the day’s stress while you burn calories and genuinely enjoy the time you spend on the mat.
Why We Mix Yoga with Dance
For me, yoga isn't just about flexibility; it's about feeling alive. In our Khar West studio, we noticed that women often come to class carrying the stress of the day. A static session is great, but sometimes you need to shake that off. That’s why our Yoga Dance sessions work so well—they combine the grounding practice of Hatha and Vinyasa flows with the release of movement.
What Happens in a Session
We start by warming up the body, often using traditional asanas to set our foundation. Then, the music changes. We bring in Bollywood fusion, festive beats during Navratri, or just high-energy tracks to get the energy moving. We incorporate props like dumbbells, bands, and gym balls into the rhythm, turning a flow into a full-body workout. We always close with a long, guided Shavasana to ensure that after the 'masti,' your nervous system is completely settled.
Who This Is For
This is for the woman who finds a traditional gym or a silent yoga class a bit intimidating. It is for the mother who wants to reclaim her time, the office professional needing to de-stress, or simply anyone looking for a community that feels more like a sisterhood than a classroom. Whether you have two left feet or love to dance, the goal here is not perfection—it is expression. If you have been looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to prioritize your health, you’ve found your tribe.
Namaste Yoga Classes
I started Namaste Yoga twelve years ago with just a few mats and a dream to create a space where women could really just be themselves. My mother-in-law is a regular in our classes, and that’s exactly the kind of family vibe we’ve built—no judgment, just support, laughter, and a little bit of Bollywood rhythm on the mat.
