Architectural Work Rooted in Context and Nature

This is a curated look at the core principles that define my practice. I design spaces that act as living ecosystems, where structure, nature, and community find a shared, authentic rhythm.

This is the essence of my work: creating spaces for connection and contemplation. Here at Villa Soham, a simple swing becomes a vantage point for experiencing the infinite, blurring the lines between the home and the majestic Nandi foothills.

For me, education is the kindling of a flame. The Ashadeep School in rural Varanasi, seen here illuminated by diyas, was designed as a vessel for learning and joy, a space that transforms and inspires long after the sun has set.

Architecture is a play of layers, light, and form. This staircase is more than a transition; it is a sculptural composition where the raw texture of concrete and the sharp geometry of the steps create a silent, powerful dialogue.

A home should be a sanctuary, a place of warmth and personal expression. In this artist's residence, earthy textures, handcrafted details, and the quiet presence of a furry companion come together to create a space that is truly alive.

The Soham house declares its oneness with the landscape. The structure doesn't dominate the mountain; it communes with it. This is the core of context-responsive architecture, creating a building that feels as if it has always belonged to its site.

A space should breathe. At the Kalasangama residence, we designed the windows to capture the western sun and the passing breeze, allowing the simple movement of a curtain to animate the room and connect the inhabitants to the rhythm of the day.

I believe in giving materials a new life. This intricate window at the Kalasangama home was crafted by upcycling and rearranging old doors and windows from the original site, transforming forgotten elements into a new, vibrant facade.

We call this view 'The Aircraft Ashadeep'. Looking up from the school's central courtyard, the sky is not just an element but a destination. It is a daily reminder for the students to connect with the cosmos and let their dreams take flight.

About Featured

I don't approach design with a fixed style because architecture should solve the specific challenges of its environment. When I look at a site, I focus on the interplay of light and airflow, often allowing the raw materiality of exposed brick or concrete to ground the space. It is a dialogue between what is built and what already exists, ensuring the structure feels like it belongs.

Every project begins with a question: How does this space want to live? My practice is less about applying a pre-determined aesthetic and more about unearthing the latent potential within a site. Whether it is an artist's studio or a rural school, I focus on creating structures that breathe.

My process involves a deep immersion into the site's topography, wind direction, and sun path. This is why you will see a recurring reliance on sustainable materials like exposed brick, wood, and lime plaster—elements that age gracefully and tell their own history. I often repurpose existing structural elements, such as vintage wooden windows, to maintain a connection to the site's past.

I also view interior design as the 'soul' of the architecture. It is not an afterthought but a critical layer that connects the inhabitant to the environment. From custom millwork to light design, every detail is intentional. I am deeply committed to a collaborative process where your ideas are treated with the same weight as structural requirements. If you value a space that is not just built but grown from its context, I would be honored to explore that journey with you.

I see architecture as a sacred creative endeavour, a chance to weave life, light, and structure into a cohesive story. My work isn't about a signature style, but about discovering the unique leitmotif hidden within every site and every client's dream.
