About Architectural Education & Mentoring
Why I Mentor
Mentorship shaped my own journey in architecture. I see teaching and practicing as one - both are creative acts. My style isn’t about imposing one vision, but helping each person find their own way of seeing and making. I want you to ask questions and discover what feels true for you.
Studio Life: Internships & Mentorship
At Meeta Jain Architects, I treat the studio as a place where learning never stops. Interns and young architects aren’t just watching from the sidelines - you’re in the thick of real projects, not just technical tasks. Sometimes you’ll dive deep into details, sometimes you’ll be pushed to try something totally different. For example, I helped Ajith find his wild “steam punk” illustration style, and nudged Shreya out of her comfort zone into M.C. Escher-inspired experiments. Every intern leaves with at least one project where they’ve taken real creative risks.
Real Projects, Real Learning
I believe the best lessons come from seeing and touching real buildings, not just theory. I often turn completed projects like Villa Soham into a hands-on architectural training ground for students. We run sessions where you sketch, discuss, and dig into the details that make a space work. Workshops like "Playfield 1SR" use art and reflection, so you learn to see beyond just the surface.
For Aspiring Architects
Architecture isn’t always easy. But if you’re ready to challenge yourself and get your hands dirty, you’ll find your own design voice here.

My Story
I started doodling before I could spell my name, honestly. Studied at CEPT in Ahmedabad, learned architecture’s not just about buildings—it’s about art, space, people. Delhi raised me, but Bangalore let me breathe and build my own rhythm. Set up my studio in 2000, then came 1 Shanthi Road—helped me see how creative spaces shape culture. MapBee happened in 2009, bringing folks together for small city changes. Mentoring students—watching them get it, that’s the real high. Full circle, as they say.
My Work
What We Do - We design homes, artist studios, community spaces, educational places for kids, and public art through MapBee.
Art Meets Architecture - For us, context-aware architecture and art are one thing—each project tells its own story, never just a style.
Design Process - No fixed style here. Every project is a fresh journey, shaped by close teamwork and trust with clients.
Materials We Love - We play with natural, raw stuff—exposed brick, steel, RCC—mixing light and heavy, up and down, grounded and skyward.
Spaces for Change - MapBee - MapBee is about temporary public spaces, workshops, and preserving history—sparking community and new ways to connect.
