Traditional Yoga and Holistic Fitness
I am 70, and my mat is where I find peace and strength every single day. Here is a look at the traditional practice I share with my students in Noida.
This is what decades of dedicated practice looks like. At 70, I find joy and freedom in challenging postures like this full forward-bending split, proving that age is truly just a number when it comes to yoga.
The Chakrasana, or Wheel Pose, is a powerful backbend that energizes the entire body. I guide my students to build the necessary shoulder, arm, and spinal strength to approach this asana safely.
A smile after a fulfilling practice. My classes are not just about physical postures; they are about finding joy, peace, and a little bit of fun on the mat. I welcome everyone with warmth and encouragement.
Finding stillness and strength in Vrikshasana, the Tree Pose. This fundamental balancing asana is a beautiful way to center the mind and improve focus, something we cultivate in every class.
Pranayam, or breathwork, is central to my holistic yoga teaching. Here, I am practicing Bhramari (Bee Breath), a technique I teach to help calm the nervous system and quiet the mind.
The wonderful energy of a group class celebrating International Yoga Day. There is a special power in practicing together, whether in my Noida studio or as part of our online community.
This is a variation of Anantasana, a deep side-reclining leg lift. It demonstrates the level of flexibility and control we can achieve through consistent and mindful practice over time.
Here I am in Sarvangasana, the shoulder stand, often called the 'queen of all asanas'. This inversion is excellent for circulation and calming the mind, and I teach various modifications to make it accessible.
About Featured
At my Noida studio in Sector 28, I keep group classes small—maximum 8 students—so I can personally guide your posture and breathing. You won't find a crowded gym atmosphere here; it is a dedicated home space where we focus on building a strong foundation, whether you are 18 or 80.
My approach combines the discipline of traditional Hatha and Vinyasa with the gentleness needed for long-term health. We do not rush. Whether we are practicing Trikonasan to build balance or dedicating time to Bhramari pranayam, the goal is always sustainable fitness.
Why Practice With Me?
- Small Batches: I cap my studio sessions at 8 students. This is not about volume; it is about ensuring you get the correction you need for your specific body and flexibility.
- Holistic Focus: A full session includes asanas, breathwork, and a meditation closing to quiet the mind.
- Adaptability: Whether you are dealing with joint pain, looking for prenatal support, or simply want to improve your mobility, I tailor the asanas to your current level. You do not need to be flexible to start; you just need to show up.
I also conduct live, interactive online sessions where I watch your form through the screen, ensuring you get the same level of attention as you would in the studio. If you are in Noida, I invite you to join me for a session and experience the difference that regular, mindful practice makes.

I am Meenakshi, and I believe yoga is a lifelong journey. At 70, I still practice with the same curiosity and discipline I started with, and I love helping my students find that same peace and strength on their own mats.
