Yoga for Transformation: Mind, Body, and Nature
I am Shashi. Whether you are joining me in the studio, online, or on a mountain trek, my goal is the same: to help you find your strength and calm.
This is Samakonasana, or the side splits, performed at the top of Savanadurga hill. For me, yoga is not just a practice but a way to connect with the world around us. Achieving a pose like this, surrounded by nature, is a reminder of the strength and peace we can find when we align our body and mind.
Hands-on adjustments are a key part of my teaching. Here, I am helping a student find the correct alignment in a seated twist. This personal guidance ensures you practice safely, understand the posture deeply, and get the most out of every movement.
Join my advanced yoga classes online from anywhere in the world. In this virtual session, I am guiding a student through Halasana, or Plow Pose. My online classes provide the same level of detailed instruction and support as my in-person sessions, helping you progress in your practice from the comfort of your home.
I believe in introducing children to the joy of movement and the serenity of nature. This video shows one of our kids' yoga treks, where we combine simple yoga, fun activities, and exploring the outdoors. It's a wonderful way for them to build confidence, stay active, and develop a calm, pleasant nature.
"Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha" means yoga is the tool to quiet the fluctuations of the mind. Here, I am leading a session on a mountaintop, helping students connect their breath and movement to the stillness of nature. This practice helps build focus and find a stable, balanced mind.
If you suffer from back pain, yoga can offer incredible relief. This collage shows several therapeutic asanas I teach specifically for back strengthening. These poses are designed to release tension, improve posture, and build a stronger, more resilient spine.
The energy of a group class is truly special. Here, students are practicing Natarajasana, the Lord of the Dance Pose, at my Basavanagudi studio. We focus on building balance and concentration together, creating a supportive environment where everyone can challenge themselves.
Practicing in front of the Adiyogi statue is a powerful experience that connects us to the very source of yoga. This pose is an offering and a reminder that yoga is a union, a way to breach our physical boundaries and experience a deeper connection with life itself.
About Featured
I don't just demonstrate poses; I move around the room during my in-person sessions at Nagarbhavi and Basavanagudi to offer hands-on adjustments. My goal is to ensure you feel the stretch safely, preventing injury while helping you build flexibility. If you are practicing online, I provide the same level of attention with real-time, two-way feedback to correct your alignment as if I were right there with you.
Vivarta means transformation. My journey as a yoga teacher is built on helping students move past their limits, whether those limits are physical stiffness, back pain, or mental stress. In our community batches, we focus on building a consistent habit that fits into your daily life.
My approach is rooted in the principle of 'Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha', which is simply about using yoga as a tool to quiet the fluctuations of the mind. This philosophy guides everything we do, from our high-intensity back-strengthening sessions to our gentle breathing work.
I offer a few different ways to practice:
- In-Studio Classes: Come practice at our community halls in Nagarbhavi or Basavanagudi. These are intensive, 60-minute sessions where we focus on spinal health and weight management.
- Online Yoga: You can join my live, interactive sessions from anywhere. These are not pre-recorded videos; I watch your form and give verbal corrections in real-time.
- Kids Yoga: We keep it active and playful, focusing on posture, memory, and concentration for children.
- Therapeutic 1-on-1: If you are dealing with specific issues like sciatica, digestive trouble, or severe back pain, I design a custom plan to help you recover at your own pace.
I also believe nature is the best teacher. This is why I organize yoga treks. When we take our practice out of the studio and into the wild, the connection between body and breath becomes deeper.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to master advanced inversions, we start where you are. My job is to guide you, adjust your path, and show you what is possible when you commit to your practice.
