About Contemporary Dance & Movement
You won’t find strict, mirror-image choreography here. Our movement sessions focus on how your body naturally wants to flow, using floor work and somatic exercises from yoga and Kalaripayattu to help you find your own rhythm, regardless of your past experience.
At Lilanoor, we view dance as a human language rather than a set of rigid styles. Whether you are a professional or someone taking their first steps, our classes at our South Extension II studio provide a space to explore movement without judgment.
We pull from diverse traditions including contemporary dance, somatic practices, and Kalaripayattu. Guided by facilitators like Aabshaar Wakhloo and Gilles Chuyen, our sessions break down the mechanics of movement—breathing, rhythm, and body isolation—before moving into expressive sequences.
We believe in creating a safe environment where you can listen to your body. Classes are held in our acoustically treated, sprung-floor studio, designed for barefoot movement and injury prevention. We keep our batches limited, typically capped at 12 participants, to ensure you get individual feedback. Whether you are looking to improve your flexibility, build strength, or just find a way to express yourself after a long week, there is a place for you in our circle.
