About
We’re Lilanoor, a French-Indian artist collective. Our shows are all about mixing worlds - East and West, old tales and new sounds, theatre and live music. We don’t stick to one style; expect a mashup of genres and traditions every time.
What To Expect
- Every show is a blend - you’ll get theatre, live music, puppetry, sometimes even video and shadow play.
- We fuse Indian and French folklore, Baroque and Hindustani classical, and more. It’s never just one thing.
- We take classic stories (like Panchatantra, Tagore, Aesop) and give them a fresh twist for today’s crowd.
- Original music is the backbone - we create new compositions and rework folk and classical pieces.
A Peek Into Our Productions
- Buried Treasures: Four folk tales, Indian and European, woven with Tagore’s central story. Music ranges from classical to rock. Big puppet friend called Mritunjoy joins in. For kids (7+) and grownups. We love hanging around post-show for a chat.
- Sangam, Confluences: Baroque meets Hindustani, Arabic, Celtic. Sarod, Tablas, Nyckelharpa, Theorbe - it’s a real fusion live performance.
- Quand on vous aime comme ça: Paris and Berlin cabarets, voice, piano, accordion. Story of a woman navigating patriarchy - with French Art Song and cabaret classics.
Who We Are
Lilanoor Ensemble isn’t a fixed band. Each show brings together different artists - singers, actors, musicians, puppeteers. It’s all about collaboration and keeping things fresh.
Where You’ll Find Us
We tour internationally - big cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad), festivals and venues in France and Switzerland. Always moving, always new.
