About Specialized Workshops & Theatre
These workshops are designed as deep-dives into niche skills, from Dabke dance to clowning, rather than long-term commitments. Because we cap our batch sizes, you get direct time with facilitators who are active performers themselves. You don't need years of training to join—most of these sessions are open to complete beginners who just want to try something different for a weekend.
Lilanoor operates at the intersection of cultures, and our workshop calendar reflects this. We bring in visiting artists and our own faculty to teach specific, intense skills over 1 to 3 days. Unlike our longer music or dance terms, these sessions are perfect if you are testing the waters of a new art form or need a quick boost of creativity.
We have hosted everything from 'Bamboo Music' sessions using improvisation techniques to 'Theatre of the Oppressed' workshops where participants devise forum plays based on real-life stories. Our South Extension studio is fully equipped for this, with sprung wooden flooring for movement and acoustic treatments for sound work.
If you are a performer, these sessions are a great way to meet others in the Delhi arts scene and pick up new vocabularies for your practice.
