Where technique meets reality. At our Koramangala dojo, we use controlled Kumite sparring to test your timing, distance, and fighting spirit under Sensei supervision.

"Very late." I correct a student during a sparring drill. Speed and simultaneous movement are critical. We drill until the reaction is instant.

Full contact sparring with protective gear. This allows students to practice with full power while maintaining safety. This is how you learn to take a hit and keep fighting.

Pad work drills. "Faster, come on." I push my students to maintain their intensity and power throughout the round.

"Face guard. Counter." During sparring, I give direct commands. You must learn to block and counter, not just receive.

A student practices combinations on the pads. This drill is for building speed, power, and stamina. "Punch more, go more near."

Outdoor sparring practice. Training on different surfaces like dirt improves footwork and adaptability.

A student practices a kick while I block. One-on-one training is important for refining a student's specific techniques.

Two students engaged in a sparring exchange in the dojo. This is where they apply the techniques learned in class.

Leg conditioning drills on the mat. We prepare our bodies for the impact of full contact fighting.

About Kumite: Sparring & Combat Drills

This is not about aimless fighting. In these sessions, I focus on your ma-ai—the perfect distance between you and your opponent—and the speed of your counters. If you are slow, we stop. We reset. We drill until your guard is high, your breathing is controlled, and your reaction is instinct, not thought. You learn to stay composed even when the pressure is on.
