Real Kyokushin power isn't built in a commercial gym. We use unconventional tools like tractor tires and resistance drills to forge the rugged endurance required for full-contact fighting.

Functional strength training. Carrying this tire builds core and grip strength that you cannot get from weights alone.

A student performs a tire press. This is a full-body exercise that builds explosive power for striking.

Preparing for a tire flip. This type of training builds the kind of practical, rugged strength needed for full contact karate.

A different angle of the tire press, showing the immense effort required. This is how we forge a strong body.

Two students work together on a tire flip drill. We push each other to get stronger.

A student prepares to lift the tire. The challenge is as much mental as it is physical.

Teamwork in conditioning. One student encourages another during a difficult tire drill.

The peak of the tire press. This exercise builds the strength needed to push through exhaustion in a fight.

Another student takes on the tire challenge. We believe in hard, simple, and effective training.

Carrying the tire builds incredible endurance and full-body strength. This is what it means to train hard.

About Strength & Conditioning

I rely on tires and functional bodyweight drills because full-contact karate demands more than just muscle mass. This training is about building the explosive power and mental grit you need for Kumite, ensuring your body can handle the raw intensity of the fight when it matters most.

Building Combat-Ready Power

In the dojo, I see too many students who focus on speed but lack the structural strength to maintain it during a fight. My strength and conditioning program is designed to bridge that gap. We do not use machines that isolate muscle groups. Instead, we use tires, resistance bands, and partner drills that force your entire body to work as one unit.

Why Tires?

When you flip a tire or press it, you are training your grip, core, and legs simultaneously. This mimics the unpredictable nature of Kumite (sparring). You need to move your weight, resist an opponent, and maintain balance while exhausted. These exercises, though simple, require total focus and high discipline. They are the same drills we use to prepare for tournaments like the All Bangalore Open.

Mind and Body

Atama wa hikuku, me wa takaku, kuchi tsutsushinde kokoro hiroku (Keep your head low, eyes high, mouth shut, heart open). This philosophy extends to our conditioning. When your muscles ache during a tire carry, you are training your mind to stay open and calm. It is not just about getting tired; it is about learning how to push through that frustration.

Whether you are a beginner looking to get fit or a senior belt preparing for an IBKO grading, this conditioning is essential. It is not easy, and you will sweat, but you will emerge stronger. Osu.

I teach Kyokushin not just as a sport, but as a way to forge a strong spirit. When we train with tires, we aren't just lifting weights; we are learning to push through pain and exhaustion, the same way you must in the ring.
