Kumite is a conversation between opponents. At our academy, we focus on strategy, timing, and control, ensuring every sparring session is both intense and safe.

About Kumite: The Spirit of Combat

Sparring is a controlled dialogue where physical power is secondary to a calm mind. Here at our Jnanakshki School Ground, we treat Kumite as a science. We prioritize safety above all else, which is why full protective gear—head guards, chest guards, shin pads, and gloves—is mandatory for every student. This allows us to practice at full intensity, focusing on WKF-style point-scoring, without the fear of injury.

Why We Focus on Control

In my dojo, the goal of Kumite is never to hurt your partner. It is to test your technique and your ability to read an opponent. If you are angry, you lose. If you are sloppy, you lose.

Our Training Approach

We structure our sessions to build reflexes that hold up under pressure. We don't just throw punches. We analyze movement.

  • WKF Point-Scoring: We drill the specific rules used in official tournaments so our students are ready for the state and international stage.
  • Reflex & Timing: We use partner drills to practice distance management and counter-attacking.
  • Full Contact Safety: Because we use high-quality protective gear, students can commit to their kicks and strikes. This removes the hesitation that often holds a fighter back, allowing for true technique development.

Who This Is For

Whether you are a beginner learning your first block-counter or an advanced student preparing for an international championship, my expectations remain the same. I want to see you working hard, listening to the cues, and respecting your training partner. We are here to build champions, but we are also here to build character. If you are ready to sweat and learn, come join us on the mats in RR Nagar.
