A warrior is one who always fights. This Kumite training clip shows the result of practice, landing a clean side kick to end the exchange.
We specialize in the ground game. This drill focuses on the Ashi Barai, a foot sweep, followed by a Gyaku Tsuki, a reverse punch, a classic Karate combination.
Dodging is as important as attacking. Here, our students practice evading and creating distance, a critical skill in both competition and self-defense.
Fear not the one who attacks, but the one who can stand and dodge. This drill builds reflexes and spatial awareness under pressure.
About Dojo Sparring & Technique Drills
Our Kumite drills go beyond simple strikes. Whether we are practicing the Ashi Barai foot sweep or perfecting a Gyaku Tsuki reverse punch, we focus on controlled, live-contact sparring that builds real spatial awareness. You won't just learn moves here; you will learn how to keep your cool when the pace picks up.
Building the Fighter's Mindset
Sparring, or Kumite, is where theory meets reality. Many students come to us thinking Karate is just about performing Katas in front of a mirror, but the real growth happens when you have to dodge, weave, and react to an opponent in real time. We don't believe in showy, movie-style techniques. We focus on what works.
What We Cover in Our Drills
- Footwork and Distance: The secret to a good defense is never being where your opponent's punch lands. We drill constant movement so you can create space or close it when you need to strike.
- The Ground Game: From Ashi Barai (foot sweeps) to maintaining balance when you are off-center, we teach you how to stay on your feet and regain composure instantly.
- Controlled Contact: We train with gear, and we train with respect. You will learn to deliver force using palm heels and reverse punches, and more importantly, you will learn to absorb contact without freezing up.
A Tribe That Trains Together
Whether you are training at our Marathah our Marathahalli dojo or dropping by our sessions in Malleshwaram, you are not doing this alone. We are a family. We hold each other accountable, we push each other to try that roundhouse kick one more time, and we celebrate the progress—no matter how small. If you have been looking for a place where you can test your limits and actually get tougher, come by. Elli mane nimdu? If you are in Bangalore, we have a spot for you on our mats. Oss.
