About Hands-On Art Workshops

Whether you are carving a woodblock for a print, stitching a leather wallet, or experimenting with cyanotype blue-prints, we keep things tactile. You do not need any prior art experience to join. We provide all the materials and walk you through the process, ensuring you leave with something physical that you created yourself, not just a digital photo.

Our studio in Cooke Town is designed to be a space for building community through shared craft. We believe that art is a gift to be shared, so we keep our workshop groups small. This ensures you get personal attention and enough time to ask questions.

What You Can Learn With Us

  • Analog Photography & Cyanotype: We explore historical sun-printing techniques. You will learn to use light and local botanicals to create striking blue prints.
  • Woodcut Printmaking: Dive into the meditative process of carving woodblocks, inking, and making impressions by hand.
  • Leather Craftsmanship: Learn the basics of working with leather, from cutting and stitching to finishing, creating durable items like wallets and journal covers.
  • Botanical Ink Making: Discover how to extract vibrant pigments from marigolds and other flowers to create your own painting inks.

We focus on the process, not just the final result. You might see a little ink on your hands or some sawdust on the floor, but that is part of the charm of working with analog mediums. We invite artists to facilitate sessions, so you are always learning from people who are deeply passionate about their craft. Whether you are a total beginner or just looking to spend a weekend afternoon doing something creative, there is a spot for you here.
