Alternative Photography Portraits
Kanike
We make unique, handmade portraits using wet plate collodion and other analog methods, so you get a physical keepsake instead of a digital photo.
Art & Craft Workshops
Kanike
We run small, hands-on art and craft workshops for adults where you can try printmaking, pottery, leathercraft, bookbinding, natural ink making, and calligraphy with all materials provided, no experience needed.
Art Sales & Exhibitions
Kanike
We offer handmade art for sale through curated exhibitions, open studios, and art markets, so you can buy unique works directly from artists and support our studio community.
Studio & Event Space Rental
Kanike
We rent out our artist-run studio for small workshops, art shows, photo shoots, and community events, with facilities for analog photography and a setup that works best for hands-on, creative sessions.

My Story
We started Kanike in 2019, calling it a 'gift' - just like the word means in Kannada. This studio’s got its own vibe now, full of handmade, analog messiness we love. Our logo’s got old Kannada script feels, mixing past and present. Some of the best days? Teaching cyanotype to kids in Garike village, watching them run wild with it. Orma Petti (memory box) sits here, holding bits of everyone. We’re all about stories, co-creating, and just letting things happen.
My Work
Creative Events & Workshops - We host hands-on workshops like cyanotype photography, leathercraft, book-making, woodcut printmaking, and more.
Open to All - No need to be a pro. Anyone curious about making things is welcome. Small groups, all materials provided.
Analog & Handmade Focus - We love ink, wood, darkrooms – old-school techniques that bring a special kind of magic.
Community & Collaboration - We team up with local and international artists, run residencies, and get involved in community projects.
