About Workshops & Special Events

If you are unsure about signing up for a two-month course, our 2-day Art Exploration Workshops are the perfect entry point. You choose the medium—from watercolor to Gond art—and complete a full artwork in just four hours, giving you a real sense of our teaching style before you take the next step.

Our workshops serve two purposes: they offer a quick creative escape for the busy professional, and they act as a gateway for those curious about our long-term courses.

The 'Sukoon' Workshops

Art is not just about the final canvas. It is about the process. Many of our students visit us for a 2-day weekend session simply to find 'Sukoon'—a peaceful break from the digital noise. Whether you are experimenting with soft pastels for the first time or trying your hand at intricate Madhubani patterns, these sessions are designed to be non-intimidating and deeply relaxing.

Plein Air & Outdoor Painting

We believe art lives outside the studio walls. Our special events, including 'Plein Air' painting sessions, take us to locations like the historic Dharmaraya Swamy Temple or the green expanse of Cubbon Park. These sessions are about observing light, sound, and life in real-time. You are not copying a photograph; you are capturing a moment.

What to Expect

  • Hands-on Learning: Every workshop includes live demonstrations. You see the technique, you understand the brush movement, and then you try it.
  • No Prior Experience: You do not need a portfolio or a degree to join us. You just need curiosity.
  • Medium Variety: From Gond, Kalamkari, and Warli folk arts to modern watercolors and acrylics, we rotate our themes to keep things fresh.

Whether you join us for a masterclass with a guest artist or a quiet Sunday sketch, our goal remains the same: to help you find your voice, one brush stroke at a time.

Pencil and Chai

Studio at Jayanagar, BengaluruStarts from 11,500 per course (2 months)

I started Pencil and Chai because I wanted a space where art is about the journey, not just the result. In our workshops, we don't rush through techniques; we sit, we sketch, we sip chai, and we learn by doing. It is about slowing down enough to actually see what you are creating.
