Master Pilates Form & Technique
Getting the movement right is about more than just a workout. It is about safety, spinal health, and building real strength. Here is how we break down technique at Stretch Pilates.
Form is everything. This video shows the difference between incorrect and correct posture for a kneeling arm exercise on the reformer. This is how we build a strong, safe, and effective practice.
About this collection
Many people think Pilates is just about pulling the reformer straps, but it is really about spinal alignment and scapular stability. In the kneeling arm exercise you see here, notice how the spine stays neutral and the core engages to support the weight. A tiny tweak in your posture is the difference between working your lats and straining your lower back.
As a physical therapist, I built the program at Stretch Pilates & Wellness around the idea that safe movement is the foundation of long-term fitness. When you are new to the reformer, it is easy to compensate with your neck or shoulders, which defeats the purpose of the exercise. We focus on the 'why' behind every movement.
Whether we are on the Cadillac or the Reformer in our Benson Town studio, my goal is to teach you how to feel which muscles are firing. If you are struggling with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply feel stuck in your current routine, our sessions are designed to recalibrate your body. We do not just count reps. We monitor your joint angles, breathing patterns, and core engagement to ensure every minute you spend on the machine contributes to your health rather than causing wear and tear. This is high-energy coaching, but with the clinical precision of a rehab session.
