New to running or coming back after a break? My Back to Basics sessions in HSR Layout are designed to help you build confidence, fix your form, and start running safely with a supportive community.

About this collection

I host these sessions every first Saturday of the month at Agara Lake to provide a low-pressure entry point for new runners. We do not focus on speed or distance here; instead, we dedicate time to gait assessment, mobility, and fundamental form drills like A-skips and high knees to ensure you develop the mechanics needed to run injury-free.

Starting to run is the easy part. The real challenge is sticking with it without getting injured or burnt out in the first month. That is exactly why I designed this program. Many beginners try to mimic what they see marathoners doing, which is a recipe for shin splints and knee pain.

In our Back to Basics sessions, we strip everything down to the fundamentals. We work on your posture, foot strike, and arm swing. I want you to understand that running is a skill, not just a physical activity. When you learn to move efficiently, your body uses less energy, and you recover faster.
