Evening snacks should be a source of nourishment, not just a way to kill hunger. I bring traditional, preservative-free recipes from my kitchen in Matunga to yours.

My fluffy and healthy Ragi Idli, also known as Nachani Idli. Made from finger millet, this is a nutritious and tasty snack, garnished with grated coconut and green chilli.

A closer look at my Ragi Dhokla, a superfood snack. Made from gluten-free finger millet, this soft and spongy dhokla is a healthy alternative that is rich in protein and helps in digestion.

A healthy and chatpata Palak Dhokla, served as part of a Wednesday happy meal. These savoury steamed cakes are infused with fresh spinach and tempered with mustard and sesame seeds.

My Coin Masala Idli, a fun and flavourful snack. Mini idlis are tossed in a savoury masala, making them a perfect bite-sized treat for both kids and adults.

My homemade Muthiya, a popular Gujarati steamed snack. Made from fenugreek leaves and gram flour, these are healthy, delicious, and perfect for a light evening snack.

A close-up of the Dudhi Muthiya, seasoned with mustard seeds and fresh coriander. This was my first time making it, and the wonderful feedback from my customers made it a success.

Soft and spongy Rawa Dhokla, a classic Gujarati snack. Tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves, it's a light and airy treat that I often include in my happy meals.

My White Dhokla, also known as Khatta Dhokla. Made from a fermented batter of rice and lentils, this tangy and soft dhokla is a healthy, steamed snack.

Another look at my super soft White Dhokla, garnished with coriander and sesame seeds. It was served with a tangy chutney as part of a Tuesday happy meal.

The making of my unique Tomato Pakodas. Slices of tomato are dipped in a spiced gram flour batter and deep-fried until golden and crispy, a perfect snack for a rainy day.

About Wholesome Snacks & Starters

These are not your typical oily restaurant starters. Everything here, from my ragi dhokla to fresh ajwain bhajiyas, is made fresh to order. Since I cook in small batches and do not use preservatives, please place your request a day before so I can source the ingredients for your specific portion.

I believe snacks should be a source of nourishment, not just a way to kill hunger. Whether you are looking for gluten-free Ragi Dhokla, protein-packed Idli, or traditional vegetable Muthiya, my approach remains the same: traditional recipes, zero food colors, and absolutely no bulk cooking.

Most of my snacks are steamed rather than deep-fried, making them a light choice for office meetings or evening cravings. Because I run this kitchen from my home in Matunga, I treat every order as if it were for my own family. You will find seasonal specials like Tomato Pakodas or farm-fresh Ajwain Bhajiyas on the menu, depending on what is fresh at the market.

I do not use food delivery apps because this is not mass-produced food. Each batch is crafted to maintain the integrity of the ingredients. If you have a corporate meeting or a family gathering in Mumbai and want snacks that are genuinely healthy and homemade, feel free to reach out. I keep the menu rotating so you always have something new to try.
