About Vrat ka Khana: Fasting Feasts

Because I prepare your Vrat thali from scratch—from soaking the Sabudana to frying fresh Rajgira puris—I request that you place your order at least 24 hours in advance. I do not use pre-cooked items or bulk batches, so this lead time ensures I can source the freshest produce and prepare your meal with the care you expect for your fasting days.

Fasting is a time of devotion, and your food should reflect that same purity. Whether you are observing Ekadashi, Navratri, or Shravan Mondays, my Vrat ka Khana is cooked without onion, garlic, or any artificial colors and preservatives. My kitchen in Matunga East focuses on traditional, sattvic cooking using ingredients like Rajgira (amaranth flour), Sabudana (tapioca pearls), and Ratalu (sweet potato).

My Vrat thalis are designed to be balanced and filling. You will typically find a combination of comforting classics like Sabudana Khichdi, crispy Farali Kachori, and Upwas Thalipeeth, served with fresh accompaniments like Kakdi Raita or sweet treats such as Batata Sheera or Ratalu Kheer. Each tray is packed to ensure quality remains intact from my home to your table in Mumbai.

I treat every meal as if I were cooking for my own family, which is why I limit myself to 35 orders a day. By keeping my production small, I ensure that the texture of your Sabudana Vada or the freshness of your Rajgira rotis is never compromised by bulk handling. If you have specific dietary needs for your fast, please let me know when you book, and I will do my best to accommodate them within the traditional boundaries of Vrat recipes.
