A selection of our work defining the 'Glocal' balance: where modern minimalism meets the warmth of traditional Indian craft. These spaces focus on the interplay of light, volume, and honest materials.
A view of a living space where a modern mint-green swing hangs from a warm wooden ceiling, contrasting with the raw concrete feature wall and smooth grey flooring. This blend of materials and playful elements is central to our design approach for creating dynamic family homes.
This statement staircase is a functional sculpture, with its concrete steps appearing to float against a backdrop of a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf made of slender metal rods. It's a design that integrates storage and circulation into a single, striking feature.
A monolithic staircase finished in a serene green oxide plaster creates a powerful play of form, light, and shadow. We use bold, continuous material applications like this to define volumes and create a tranquil, immersive experience within the home.
The heart of this home is an open-plan area where the kitchen island seamlessly extends to become the dining table. This design encourages family interaction and is flanked by views of an indoor courtyard and garden, blurring the lines between cooking, dining, and living.
An internal courtyard, or 'angan', brings natural light deep into the home through a double-height volume. The textured, precast concrete blocks on the wall create a beautiful pattern as sunlight filters through the slatted screen above, connecting the interior with the rhythm of the day.
We designed this children's room with a suspended mezzanine loft, effectively doubling the usable space for play and sleep. The custom metal ladder adds a fun, interactive element, turning the room into a vertical playground.
In this bedroom, a textured green accent wall provides a calm and earthy backdrop to the clean lines of the wooden bed and cabinetry. We balance bold color with natural materials to create private spaces that feel both refreshing and warm.
About this collection
We approach design as an exercise in building ecosystems rather than just filling rooms. You will notice our frequent use of raw concrete paired with warm wood, not just as a finish, but as a structural language that defines how light moves through your home. Whether it is incorporating an internal courtyard to channel natural breeze or building storage directly into the staircase volume, every element is designed to serve a functional purpose while retaining a sense of calm.
Designing for Life and Memory
Our philosophy, which we call 'Glocal', is a constant negotiation between the vernacular traditions of India and the clean, functional requirements of modern living. We believe that architecture must go beyond aesthetics to solve the practical problems of density and climate in cities like Bangalore.
The Anatomy of Our Spaces
- Internal Courtyards (Angan): We frequently reintroduce the courtyard as the central lung of the home. This brings light into the deep floor plate, regulates cross-ventilation, and provides a physical connection to nature, even in tight urban plots.
- Material Honesty: We prefer raw materials that age gracefully. You will see us working with basalt stone, colored oxide flooring, and exposed concrete. These are not 'applied' finishes; they are the building blocks of the space.
- Fluid Storage: We avoid detached, clutter-prone cabinets. Instead, we integrate storage into the architecture itself, such as turning staircases into bookshelves or designing pantry counters that extend into dining surfaces.
A Growing Framework
We design homes that are meant to grow with the family. A residence should be a vessel for memories, not a rigid showroom. We create pockets—like mezzanine lofts for children, dedicated art nooks, and transitional spaces—that allow you to adapt your home as your needs change over the years. By focusing on volume and light rather than just surface decoration, we create a backdrop that remains relevant, regardless of changing interior trends.
