We believe materials define the soul of a home. From raw concrete and warm teak to vibrant oxide floors, our approach focuses on textures that feel as good as they look.

A concrete staircase is softened by a lush indoor garden planted at its base. This juxtaposition of hard, brutalist forms with soft, living nature is a recurring theme in our work, creating a balanced and earthy environment.

The clean lines of a vertically slatted wood door stand in warm contrast to the cool, textured finish of the surrounding concrete walls and stone steps. This image captures our focus on material honesty and precise detailing.

This internal courtyard features a floor of dark, locally sourced stone, which grounds the space. The surrounding walls are made of textured concrete blocks, creating a rich material palette that is animated by the play of natural light.

A vibrant green oxide floor flows through this space, complemented by custom wooden cabinetry. The contrast between the smooth, colorful floor and the warm grain of the wood creates a unique and energetic interior.

This custom foyer unit is a composition of interlocking wooden boxes, creating a play of solid volumes and open voids for displaying art and artifacts. It serves as a functional and sculptural focal point at the entrance of the home.

About The Art of Materiality

We often use hand-finished coloured oxide flooring paired with warm engineered wood in our common areas. It is a deliberate choice—the oxide stays cool to the touch during Bengaluru summers, while the wood provides necessary warmth, creating a tactile balance that makes the living space feel grounded and comfortable all year round.

A glimpse into the kitchen of 'A Home Set in Stone', where the cool grey of the in-situ terrazzo floor meets the warm teak of the cabinetry. The frosted glass and handmade tiles add another layer of texture.11
This bathroom in the 'House of Skye' features pastel green terrazzo walls and a custom-cast slate grey terrazzo sink. The seamless finish and the meeting of two different terrazzo colors in one space is a detail I particularly love.

The upper-level corridor at the Vidyut Kapoor Residence features a continuous exposed brick wall, complemented by large windows that offer views of the surrounding greenery. The polished yellow oxide flooring reflects the warm tones and natural light.8
This covered patio at the Reshma House is an extension of the living space, defined by its exposed brick walls and terracotta floor tiles. It’s a perfect example of creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.

At the Sharada Residence, an exposed brick wall provides a dramatic backdrop for the dining area and floating staircase. The design integrates a traditionally carved wooden door, blending rustic materials with classic Indian craftsmanship.

Rattan is one of my favorite materials for adding warmth and texture. Here, I've used it on the shutters of a console, paired with an arched niche to create a space that feels earthy, modern, and on-trend.
