Playful and Dynamic Interior Elements for Modern Homes

Architecture shouldn't be static. We design homes that invite movement, surprise, and interaction, turning everyday circulation paths into meaningful spaces for family connection.

An indoor wooden swing offers a relaxing spot overlooking a tranquil, plant-filled courtyard. This traditional element is integrated into a modern context, providing a playful and nostalgic feature within the living space.

A view from the mint-green swing towards the entertainment unit, showcasing how these playful elements are integrated into the daily life and flow of the home. The swing becomes a unique vantage point from which to experience the space.

This statement staircase is a functional sculpture, with its concrete steps appearing to float against a backdrop of a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf made of slender metal rods. It's a design that integrates storage and circulation into a single, striking feature.

We designed this children's room with a suspended mezzanine loft, effectively doubling the usable space for play and sleep. The custom metal ladder adds a fun, interactive element, turning the room into a vertical playground.

About this collection

A staircase is rarely just a staircase in our work. We often treat it as a structural sculpture or an integrated storage unit, like the floor-to-ceiling metal bookshelf design that doubles as a backdrop for the circulation path. These elements are not merely decorative, they are functional touchpoints that encourage your family to pause, gather, and interact throughout the day.

When we approach the layout of a home, we look for ways to break the monotony of conventional floor plans. Our focus is on activating spaces—creating nooks, vertical play areas, and vantage points that change how you experience the room.

In our 'Heirlooms in Concrete' project, for instance, we didn't just place a swing in the living area; we positioned it to overlook the internal courtyard, effectively linking the indoor environment with nature. This turns a simple seat into a transition zone that bridges the gap between the busy living space and the quiet garden.

Similarly, we often use mezzanine lofts in children’s bedrooms to effectively double the usable square footage. These vertical additions provide a sense of exploration and privacy, transforming a sleeping area into an active play environment.

We utilize materials like mild steel, solid wood, and exposed concrete to construct these features. By keeping the joinery slim and the structural lines clean, these dynamic elements remain a part of the home's cohesive language rather than appearing as tacked-on afterthoughts. Whether it is a staircase that holds your entire library or a split-level design that creates distinct zones for gathering and reflection, the goal is always to design a home that grows and adapts alongside your family's daily habits.
