My Coaching Journey and Athletic Philosophy
From the 1996 national track to leading Go Speed Sprint Academy, I bring years of competitive sprinting experience to every session. Here is how I build champions from the ground up.
A proud moment to remember. This is a look back at my win in the 200m at the 1996 Open Nationals. The thrill of crossing the finish line first never fades, and it fuels my passion to inspire the next generation.
This was from the 1996 Open Nationals in Kolkata, where I won the 100m title. I was concentrating more on the 200m, but I was pleased to perform my career best and take the win. seasons.
Some valuable tips from my experience as the fastest man of India. I teach my athletes that you cannot save energy for the last run. You have to work on your body when the lactic acid is produced to truly improve.
I often say that this is the best time for a sportsman to be born in India. The old saying of '*kheloge koodoge hoge kharab*' is no longer true. If you play well, you will become a 'nawab'.
From being a national record holder myself to coaching the next generation of record-breakers. The bond between a coach and an athlete is built on trust, hard work, and shared goals.
After two tough reps, this athlete from IIT Delhi felt like giving up. But with some motivation, he not only finished the workout but ran an incredible 34.9 seconds for 300m. This is the power of pushing through your mental barriers.
About this collection
You will notice in my training, we don't save energy for the last run. Whether you are at IIT Delhi or Vasant Kunj, my method focuses on pushing through when your body is full of lactic acid, because that is the only way to build speed endurance. It isn't just about showing up; it is about hitting the specific paces I set for you, even when you feel like giving up.
I have spent my life on the track, from being the fastest man in India in the 90s to now coaching the next generation. My philosophy is simple: there is no shortcut to speed. When you train with me at Go Speed, you are not just jogging; you are learning how to execute a start, manage a curve, and push your physical limits.
The Science of Speed
I blend the science of plyometrics and resistance training with old-school discipline. Whether you are training for 100m, 200m, or hurdles, we use video analysis to fix biomechanical flaws like pelvic tilt or incorrect arm swings. We don't just guess; we track your progress with timed flys.
Mental Toughness
Athletics is 50% physical and 50% mental. I have seen athletes who want to quit after two repetitions, only to break their personal records moments later when they are pushed. I create that environment. We treat para-athletes and able-bodied athletes with the same rigorous standard because grit has no disability.
Grassroots to Glory
I believe the old saying 'kheloge koodoge hoge kharab' is dead. Today, sport is a viable career path, but it requires a 'nawab' level of dedication. My academy is a family. We celebrate medals, but we also learn to lose with dignity. If you are ready to stop making excuses and start working on your pulse rate and technique, then we have a spot for you on the track.
