These videos are my raw, unfiltered dance journal. When words fail me, I move. This is an invitation into my process, and a glimpse of what you can discover in my movement workshops.

An investigation in silence. I often start moving without music, listening only to my breath and the rhythm of my body, and then see how the feeling changes when music is added later.

A dance of lament and joy. This is my interpretation of a beautiful song, a reminder that art should come from life itself.

A slice of self-love. Inspired by the soulful music of David Walters, this is a celebration of life and the fuel that movement provides for the soul.

"La Vie - a celebration!" A daily improvisation, sharing a slice of my life and the joy I find in just moving.

An ode to Joy itself. A simple Sunday groove to remind myself and others that life is beautiful, no matter the challenges.

A simple, quiet improvisation. Sometimes the most profound movements come from the simplest of beginnings.

A dance in memory of the great Harry Belafonte. His music created magic, and this is my way of honoring his legacy.

An impulse to move. A short investigation into a physical idea, exploring the body's potential for expression.

I move when moved. This quiet, solo dance is a way of holding onto hope and faith in the artistic process, especially when words fail.

The beginning of a new dawn. Another entry in my dance journal, exploring new shapes and feelings through improvisation.

About My Movement Journal: Solo Improvisations

These improvisations are not rehearsed performances. They are spontaneous reactions to the music, silence, or the weight of the day. In my private sessions, I help students move past the pressure of ‘doing it right’ to find this same unfiltered connection between their body and their current state of mind.

People often ask if improvisation is something that can be taught. My answer is always yes. It is not about mastering steps, but about unlearning the physical constraints we hold in our bodies. Whether we are meeting at my studio in Jayanagar or at TreeHouse in Indiranagar, my approach remains deeply personal.

My movement workshops blend techniques from Butoh, contemporary dance, and my background in Kathak to help you strip away the performance and find what is real. This practice is for anyone—no prior training needed. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want to find a way to breathe through your body, this is the space for you. We focus on listening to the body’s impulse rather than forcing a shape. If you have been looking for a way to express the things that language cannot capture, let us move together.
