Solo Theatre and Immersive Dance Performances
My performances are more than just movement, they are invitations to feel. Whether exploring identity or laughing at our own absurdity, every piece I bring to the stage is a slice of my journey.
The official poster for my solo performance, "All About Nothing." This show is a deep dive into the illusions we live by, questioning everything from love to our own identity through movement, prose, and music.
A moment of release during my solo piece "DANDYLION" at the Asia meets Asia Spring Camp in Tokyo. This performance explores resilience and the strength of life, using physical theatre to tell a powerful story.

In character for the vaudeville piece "No Strings Attached." This show blends Kathak, Flamenco, and Butoh with comedy to explore our modern lives. It shows how different dance forms can tell one cohesive, entertaining story.

On stage with my collaborator for "No Strings Attached." This contemporary vaudeville show is a playful and critical look at human relationships, culture, and the role of technology in our lives.
An introductory Butoh workshop and a performance of my solo piece "All About Nothing." I believe in creating immersive experiences that allow the audience to not just watch, but to feel and explore their own inner worlds.
The poster for "The Courtesan Series," a performance project that uses poetry, dance, and theatre to bring the stories of legendary courtesans of pre-colonial India to life. This is an example of how I use historical narratives to create immersive experiences.
Dressed in character for a theatrical performance. For me, costume, expression, and movement are all inseparable parts of storytelling on stage.
A shot from a stage production, where set design and lighting create a world for the story to unfold. I love collaborating with other artists to build these evocative environments.
About On Stage: Theatrical & Solo Works
I perform in intimate spaces like Shoonya and Courtyard Koota because proximity changes the conversation. These aren't shows where you simply sit back and watch, they are structured, immersive experiences where we peel back layers of identity, using silence, dance, and prose to find the truth underneath.
My work on stage is a rebellion against the idea that dance must only be beautiful. Through shows like 'All About Nothing' and 'No Strings Attached', I explore the messy, beautiful reality of being human. I weave together Kathak, Flamenco, Butoh, and physical theatre to create a space that feels like a shared secret rather than a performance.
Why my approach is different
My theatrical pieces are not just about technique. I combine movement with comedy, mime, and spoken word to challenge how we see our relationships, the influence of technology, and our personal histories. If you are looking for a performance that starts a conversation rather than just filling a slot in an event schedule, this is it.
The Venues I Work In
I prioritize spaces that allow for genuine connection. You can find me performing regularly at Bangalore venues like:
- Shoonya Centre for Art and Somatic Practices
- Courtyard Koota
- Jagriti Theatre
- Vyoma Space
What I Bring to the Stage
Whether you are hosting a private event, an arts festival, or a corporate gathering that needs something bold and unconventional, I bring a full production mindset. I handle the narrative, the movement, and the atmospheric elements to ensure the performance resonates long after the music stops. I am open to collaborating on new concepts or adapting existing solos to fit your space.
Archana Kumar
I am Archana. For me, the stage is a mirror, not a pedestal. I use dance, prose, and a bit of comedy to explore what makes us human, and I would love for you to see it.
