About Kathak & Fusion
In our fusion sessions, we do not just replicate classical movements. We often start with traditional Kathak tatkar, or footwork, and slowly introduce elements of Flamenco or Blues to see how they intersect, giving you a chance to build your own choreographic vocabulary.
My teaching philosophy is simple. Whether you are at my studio in Jayanagar or Indiranagar, we treat the floor as a blank canvas. We start with the precision of Kathak—the spins, the posture, the rhythm—and then we ask what happens when we change the music. We might take a Hindustani composition and see how it breathes when paired with the intensity of Flamenco. These workshops are meant for people who want to understand the grammar of the dance but are eager to write their own poetry.
You do not need years of training to begin. My classes are structured to help you develop bodily awareness, rhythm, and a connection to your own expression. We focus on technique, but also on the feeling behind the movement. If you are looking for a space to experiment and learn without the pressure of strict, commercial dance standards, these sessions are for you. We focus on skill acquisition in small groups, ensuring you get the attention needed to grow.
