Artistic Movement & Solo Expression

Movement is the ink, and the body is my journal. In these sessions, I explore dance as a form of raw, honest storytelling.

An impromptu jazz dance session at home. This is where I play with choreography and freestyle, exploring the connection between music and movement that is central to my artistic jazz instruction.

A raw, introspective freestyle piece. This kind of movement exploration helps me connect with my inner artist, a process of self discovery that I encourage in all my students.

A video diary of my personal jazz journey. It shows the stumbles, the practice, and the strengthening, reflecting the real process of learning to dance with your whole being.

Dancing with art. Inspired by this beautiful painting, this movement piece is about connecting with the creative energy around me. It’s a demonstration of how inspiration for dance can be found everywhere.

Playing with light, shadow, and form. This image captures the quiet, contemplative side of my dance practice, focusing on the body's lines and the stories they can tell without a single step.

Another perspective on using light and shadow in movement. This artistic photo highlights the importance of physical expression and body language in dance.

A similar pose to explore the theme of portals and inner worlds. This kind of creative photography is part of my artistic process, finding new ways to see and express movement.

About this collection

In these sessions, I don't just teach steps. We work on finding the rhythm that feels like you. Whether it is a freestyle flow or technical jazz, we strip away the need for performance and focus on the story your body wants to tell. This is about building a connection between your internal state and your physical movement, stripping back the noise to find the essence of your style.

My movement practice, which I often call my 'Soulo' process, is where I explore the boundaries of my artistic expression. It is a moving meditation. When I dance, I am not trying to impress; I am trying to translate feelings into motion. I bring this same philosophy to my classes at Dside Fitness Studio in Indiranagar.

My approach to artistic movement combines discipline with the freedom to be messy. We work on jazz dance basics, technique, and posture, but the real work happens when we let go of the rigid structure. For those looking for solo dance practice or expressive dance, my workshops provide a space to explore these layers of yourself.

We focus on:

  • Body Awareness: Understanding how your specific anatomy moves and reacts to music.
  • Technical Foundations: Utilizing jazz isolations and floor work to build stamina and control.
  • Emotional Expression: Using movement to process emotions, whether it is joy, stillness, or the struggle of a challenging day.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone looking to deepen your relationship with dance, my classes are designed to be a safe, non-judgmental environment. We celebrate the stumbles just as much as the breakthroughs. If you are searching for a dance community in Bangalore that values authenticity over perfection, this is where you belong. Let us find your rhythm together.

I'm Pooja. For me, dance is a conversation with the self—a way to translate feelings into motion when words aren't enough. I share this journey of 'vishvaas' (belief) through my movement practice, helping you find your own story through every step we take.
