My Fitness Journey: 23 Years of Movement
From starting as a state-level lifting champion to teaching ancient Indian warrior arts, my fitness philosophy has been built over two decades of trial, error, and constant learning.
This is a memory from 23 years ago when I won the best lifter award in the state championship. My journey started with lifting, but now it's all about movement.
My dream came true. This is my certification for Indian Club and Mace instruction from Tagda Raho, a goal I worked hard to achieve.
I recently completed a workshop on ACL rehabilitation. I believe in constantly updating my knowledge to better help clients recover from injuries.
My certificate from a nutrition workshop. Understanding food is a key part of any fitness plan, and I'm always learning more.
My certificate of participation from a one-day Silambam training camp. I am passionate about learning traditional Indian martial arts.
A gym selfie after a good workout. I'm always working on my own fitness to come back stronger from any setback.
I'm experimenting with maintaining a flat stomach without a strict diet. I eat carbs and drink my kattan with sugar, but my active lifestyle as a trainer helps balance it out.
A morning selfie. Staying motivated myself is key to motivating my clients.
A quiet moment in the gym. I believe in myself and the process, and I bring that same belief to my clients' training.
Posing in the gym. After 23 years, I still love training and pushing my own body.
About My Story: 23 Years of Fitness
I did not start my career focusing on mobility; I spent years chasing heavy numbers on a barbell. That history taught me exactly where the body fails when you push it too hard without proper care. Whether you are dealing with a desk-job injury or simply want to reclaim your strength, I use that 23-year history to create plans that prioritize pain-free movement over ego-lifting.
My journey began in the competitive lifting scene, where I earned a state champion title, but my approach shifted as I got older. I realized that the true test of fitness is not just how much you can lift, but how well you can move in your daily life. I now specialize in bridging the gap between traditional strength and modern functional needs.
The Shift to Ancient Movement
I am a Thrissurkaran, and my roots run deep in Indian culture. I bring that heritage into my training by teaching Mugdar (Indian club) and Gada (mace) exercises. These aren't just 'cool' tools; they are essential for fixing the modern, sedentary body. If you sit at a desk all day, your shoulders are likely locked. My training focuses on rotational strength, which is the missing piece for most IT professionals in Bangalore. We don't just work your muscles; we work your joints.
Why My Approach Works
I don't believe in copy-paste workout plans. Every body has a different history. I work with:
- Injury Rehab: I use manual therapy and specific movement protocols for scapula lock, frozen shoulder, and post-surgery recovery.
- General Fitness: I help people lose fat and build lean muscle without needing to live in the gym.
- Senior Training: My oldest client is a 73-year-old runner. It is never too late to start.
I combine traditional weightlifting, bodyweight calisthenics, and movement flows to ensure you get strong, stay flexible, and actually enjoy the process. Whether we are training in your apartment gym, a park, or online, the goal remains the same: I want to help you build a body that serves you for life, not just for the next few months.
