Traditional Yoga Kriyas, Meditation, and Philosophy in Bengaluru
Yoga is more than just asanas on a mat. Explore the deeper side of the practice through traditional cleansing kriyas, focused meditation, and the philosophical roots that anchor my teaching.
Here I am practicing Jal Neti, a yogic cleansing kriya. This technique uses saline water to cleanse the nasal passages, providing immense relief for sinusitis and improving respiratory health.
This is a Jyoti Trataka (candle gazing) meditation session with my students. This powerful kriya improves concentration, calms the mind, and enhances vision by focusing on a single point of light.
This is my personal ritual before I begin my Suryanamaskar practice. I always start with a small prayer, lighting a diya and setting an intention for the day, connecting my practice to a deeper spiritual purpose.
About The Yogic Path: Kriyas, Meditation & Philosophy
When I teach Jal Neti, I do not just demonstrate the technique. We walk through the process in detail so you can safely use it at home to manage sinusitis and clear nasal congestion. It is one of the many practical kriyas I integrate into my sessions to help you move beyond the mat and into a truly consistent, cleansing routine.
Why Traditional Kriyas Matter
Many people come to yoga looking only for flexibility, but the full practice involves cleansing the body from the inside out. My approach at Swasthya Yoga Academy in Kaggadasapura incorporates Kriyas like Jal Neti—a technique using saline water to clear the nasal passages. This practice is incredibly effective for respiratory health, especially if you deal with constant dust or allergies in the city.
Meditation and Mindset
In our group sessions, we don't just focus on the physical flow. I introduce practices like Jyoti Trataka (candle gazing) to improve concentration and calm the mind. It is a powerful tool to step away from daily distractions. My goal is to ensure you feel 'Sthiram Sukham Asanam'—stable and comfortable—in your practice. We balance this with the spiritual side of yoga, including Bhakti Yoga rituals like traditional chanting and lighting a diya before our Suryanamaskar practice, which helps set a genuine intention for the day.
Who This Is For
These practices are for anyone looking for depth. Whether you are a beginner curious about the philosophical side of yoga or a practitioner looking to refine your alignment and incorporate cleansing techniques into your regimen, these classes provide a structured space. We operate in small batches of 8 to 12 students at the studio, allowing for hands-on alignment corrections and personalized attention. If you are joining my online programs, we maintain that same focus through interactive Zoom sessions where I can guide your posture and practice in real time.
