The Yogic Path: Philosophy & Deeper Practices
Yoga is a 'work-in,' not just a workout. Explore my approach to traditional pranayama, cleansing kriyas, and the philosophy that keeps my practice grounded in reality.
This is a part of my story. A 12-year journey of choosing life and freedom over addiction. Yoga was my path to recovery, and it taught me that our true strength lies in our ability to overcome our past selves.
Are you practicing pranayama but getting headaches or anxiety? In this video, I explain a shloka from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika about the dangers of incorrect practice and the importance of proper guidance.
The ancient texts compare controlling the breath to taming a wild animal. It must be done slowly and skillfully. Here, I share wisdom from the Upanishads on why practicing pranayama under a guru's guidance is essential.
A glimpse from our Shuddhikriya workshop, where a young student practices Nauli. These advanced abdominal kriyas are powerful for cleansing the digestive system and toning the core.
Students learning Jalkram Kapalabhati, a yogic cleansing technique where water is drawn through the mouth and expelled through the nose. It is excellent for clearing the sinuses and improving respiratory health.
An advanced variation of the Hindu push-up. For me, physical strength is a foundation for mental stillness. As the voiceover says, we only have the present moment, so we must live in it fully.
Our workshop on Neti Kriya, a traditional practice for nasal cleansing using either water (Jal Neti) or a thread (Sutra Neti). This is highly beneficial for anyone dealing with allergies, sinus issues, or city pollution.
Shivoham, Shivoham. A moment of quiet meditation (Dhyana) in our class. After the intensity of asana practice, we turn inward to connect with the breath and find stillness.
Admission is open for my regular batches. Here, I demonstrate a flow that combines traditional asana with the spirit of yoga. My teaching is rooted in unique techniques and alignments to help you progress safely.
About The Yogic Path: Philosophy & Deeper Practices
If you are practicing breathing exercises at home and feeling anxious or dizzy, stop. This is not just a workout; it is a delicate manipulation of life energy that requires specific technique. Whether you are here to learn Jalneti for sinus relief or to understand why certain advanced asanas require a teacher’s supervision, we focus on safe, traditional methods that actually work for the stress of city life.
Beyond the Mat: True Yogic Practice
Many students come to me because they hit a plateau in their asana practice or feel like something is missing. They realize that flexibility in the body doesn't automatically mean stability in the mind. My classes are structured to bridge that gap. We focus on the foundational elements that are often skipped in modern fitness-based yoga: Pranayama and Shatkarmas (cleansing techniques).
Why Guidance Matters
I often see students practicing pranayama or intense kriyas from online videos without knowing the risks. As the Hatha Yoga Pradipika warns, incorrect practice can lead to ailments rather than health. If you are struggling with sinus issues, breathing disorders, or just high stress, we don't just 'do yoga.' We systematically clean the respiratory tract using techniques like Jalneti and Sutraneti. This isn't for show; it is for clearing the path so your lungs and mind can function as they should.
My Teaching Philosophy
I don't teach to create followers; I teach to create practitioners. My methodology is old-school. Whether we are in the Ghatkopar or Powai studio, we work with props, rope walls, and precise alignment to ensure that even the most difficult inversion—like a 10-minute headstand—is approached with the same respect as a simple seated meditation.
My journey of 12 years started from zero, and I teach from that perspective: step-by-step, no rushing, and zero ego. If you are ready to stop just moving your body and start practicing with intent, my doors are open. We learn, we cleanse, and we grow.
