Functional Strength and Core Conditioning
Fitness is about more than just sweating on a mat. My approach blends mindful yoga, functional strength, and core stability to build a body that feels as good as it looks.
This video shows a core stability exercise, testing balance and control. Building a strong core is not just for aesthetics; it's about creating a stable foundation for all movement.
Warmups are one of the most important parts of any workout. This sequence of jumping jacks and other movements increases blood circulation, warms the muscles, and reduces the chance of injury.
About Strength and Core Conditioning
If you are used to gym workouts that focus only on heavy lifting, my approach will feel different. I do not believe in punishing workouts or counting endless reps. Instead, we focus on functional movements and core stability that protect your spine and improve your posture. Whether we are training at my studio in Kaggadasapura or via live Zoom sessions, I prioritize correct form and bone health, ensuring that your core strength supports your daily life, not just your time on the mat.
Why Core Strength Matters
Core stability is the foundation of a healthy body. It is not just about having defined abdominal muscles; it is about having a stable center that supports every movement you make, from standing to lifting heavy objects. In my sessions, we focus on deep muscle engagement, ensuring you feel stable and comfortable in your body. I follow the principle of 'Sthiram Sukham Asanam'—finding steadiness and ease, even when the workout is challenging.
My Training Methodology
I combine traditional Hatha and Vinyasa yoga with functional strength training. This hybrid approach helps build muscle endurance and bone density without the need for heavy equipment. We utilize props like kettlebells, dumbbells, and yoga blocks to add resistance, while keeping the focus on alignment and breath control.
How We Work Together
- Live Online Coaching: For those training from home, I run 5 live interactive sessions weekly. We pair traditional yoga flows with functional fitness, and I provide spot-checks on your form to keep you safe.
- In-Studio Training: If you are in Bengaluru, my studio in Kaggadasapura offers a hands-on environment. This is where you get tactile posture corrections and access to our full range of studio equipment.
The Nutrition Connection
I always tell my students that 80% of your body is made in the kitchen. No amount of core training can undo poor nutrition habits. As part of your fitness journey, we look at your current diet and create a sustainable, macro-balanced plan based on Indian home-cooked meals. This is about fueling your body correctly, not about following a restrictive diet. Consistency is the key to seeing real results.
