Nutrition and Wellness Philosophy: Fueling Your Body Naturally
True fitness isn't just about what you do on the mat; it is about how you nourish yourself. I focus on sustainable, mindful nutrition to fuel your body and your yoga practice.
This quote is a core part of my nutritional philosophy. I teach mindful eating and help you understand how to use food as medicine to nourish your body from the inside out.
Are you getting enough protein? This graphic breaks down the five key benefits of protein, from increasing muscle mass and aiding recovery to managing weight and boosting metabolism.
About Nutrition and Wellness Philosophy
I do not believe in restrictive diets or cutting out food groups. Instead, I look at what is already in your kitchen and help you make small, macro-based adjustments—like increasing protein intake—to ensure you have the energy to sustain your workouts and your daily life without feeling drained.
My approach to nutrition is built on the belief that 80% of your progress happens in the kitchen. It is not about eating less; it is about eating right. Whether you are training at my studio in Kaggadasapura or joining my hybrid online coaching, I treat food as medicine.
We start by auditing what you already eat. I do not ask you to switch to expensive, exotic ingredients that do not fit your lifestyle. If you enjoy traditional Indian home-cooked meals, we work with that. We focus on macro-balancing—ensuring you get enough protein for muscle recovery, healthy fats for hormone health, and complex carbohydrates for sustained energy.
This is not a quick fix. We look at three main pillars:
- Protein Awareness: Understanding if you are getting enough to support metabolism and muscle mass.
- Mindful Eating: Learning to listen to your body’s hunger cues versus emotional cravings.
- Sustainability: Building a relationship with food that you can maintain for years, not just weeks.
If you are struggling with low energy during your practice or feel stuck in a cycle of yo-yo dieting, we need to look at your daily habits. You do not need a punishing regime. You need a plan that makes you feel stable, strong, and energized—what we call 'Sthiram Sukham' in yoga, extending off the mat and onto your plate.
