Yoga & Functional Fitness for Real Strength
I blend power yoga flows with functional movement. We build strength, improve mobility, and find balance—whether on the mat or at the gym.
An active recovery day is just as important as a tough workout. Here, I'm moving through some gentle yoga flows and mobility work to promote blood flow, loosen stiff muscles, and speed up recovery.
My Wednesday never looked better. This is a great hip-opening flow that can be done anywhere, even at the gym. It's perfect for releasing tension after a workout or a long day of sitting.
If you're working on your hip mobility, try this movement. Using a foam roller while performing hip circles helps to release the fascia and improve the range of motion in your hip joint.
Yoga teachers can start anywhere. A quick shoulder stretch using gym equipment is a great way to release tension in the upper body, especially after a strength training session.
This mobility challenge requires you to slide down a wall into a full squat and back up. It's a fantastic test of your leg strength, core control, and lower body mobility.
This is the World's Greatest Stretch for a reason. It's a full-body movement that targets everything from your neck and shoulders to your hips and ankles, making it a perfect dynamic warm-up or cool-down.
Looking to strengthen your hip flexors? This side plank variation with leg lifts on a box is an excellent exercise. Strong hip flexors are vital for stability, balance, and athletic performance.
About this collection
You don't need to choose between the mat and the gym. My functional fitness sessions integrate yoga-based mobility with traditional strength training like squats and rows. We use gym equipment—cables, plates, and rollers—specifically to support your yoga practice, ensuring your joints are as strong as they are flexible.
Yoga is often seen as just stretching, but my practice is about creating a body that works well for life. Whether you are a marathon runner, a regular at the gym, or someone sitting at a desk all day, your body needs specific kinds of strength.
Why combine Yoga and Functional Fitness?
My sessions bridge the gap between static yoga poses and dynamic movement. By adding functional drills—like cable work, weighted squats, and specialized mobility sequences—we tackle common issues like tight hips, stiff shoulders, and weak core stability.
What to expect in our sessions:
- Active Recovery & Mobility: We use foam rollers and dynamic stretches to release fascia and improve joint health.
- Functional Strength: We focus on compound movements that enhance your ability to move freely in daily life.
- Prop-Assisted Training: We use yoga wheels and blocks alongside gym tools to safely push your range of motion.
In Bengaluru, I work with clients who want more than just a typical class. Whether you are coming to my home studio or need a personalized plan for your gym, we focus on abhyaas (practice) to build a foundation that lasts.
