It starts with a single beat. Here you can see how one student confidently leads the taal on the tabla, and the entire class follows in perfect sync. This is the community and discipline I build.

When I ask my students to 'squeeze your bum' or 'flex your feet,' it is not just about perfect posture. It is about building the discipline to own a stage. Whether it is a child overcoming stage fright or a group synchronizing to the tabla, we do not skip the basics, because that is where the confidence comes from.
At Dance with AGMI, my studio in Paschim Vihar, we treat dance as a language. My approach is simple: technique is the foundation, and personality is the expression. If you look at our performances, you are not just seeing steps. You are seeing years of correcting posture, repetitive footwork (tatkaar), and understanding the intricacies of the Jaipur Gharana.
I am not here to feed you shortcuts. We start with the basics—proper alignment, strengthening the core, and understanding the taal (rhythm). When my students get on stage, the confidence you see is not magic. It is the result of hours spent in our studio, where we focus on being unfiltered. If you are not getting the movement right, I will ask you to try again until your rhythm flows naturally.
This discipline extends to our hybrid classes, where students from across cities sync up online. Whether you are dancing from your living room or standing on a professional stage, the goal remains the same: internalizing the beat so well that you do not have to think about the next step.
