Step into our studio in Hebbal to learn the craft of natural dyeing, eco-printing, and sustainable fashion in a space where creativity meets community.

"I've had a wonderful time... It's wonderful to see the passion people have for what they do." We love hearing from our workshop participants. It was a pleasure sharing our craft with visitors from Greece and Ireland.

A look back at a wonderful community event. We are so grateful for the solidarity from our collaborators and the lovely people who came to hold space for truth, facts, and reflections on sustainability.

"I was very curious about the natural color because the medium I use most of time is made out of a chemical." Japanese artist Naomi Kazama shares his delight in discovering our natural dye pastes for screen printing.

We asked people how much they knew about the fashion industry. Their answers highlight the need for more awareness. We host events and workshops to educate and empower consumers to make more conscious choices.

Would you like to celebrate Earth Day with us? We host weekend experiences where you can bring an old garment and give it new life with natural dyes, connecting with the Earth and your own creativity.

A collage from our Earth Day weekend event. Participants learned to create their own pieces using techniques like tie-dye, block printing, and painting, culminating in a fashion show to flaunt their creations.

A recap of our Earth Day weekend, which included conversations with women leading sustainable businesses, a coffee tasting session, and a natural dye fashion show. It was a weekend of connection and inspiration.

About this collection

Our studio is not a traditional classroom; it is a space to get your hands stained and your creative energy flowing. Whether you are a local resident, a student, or a traveler passing through Mysuru, we offer an open environment where you learn by doing. We keep our sessions small to ensure you get actual time to experiment with plant dyes, block printing, and shibori techniques on organic cotton, rather than just watching a demonstration.

A Space for Hands-On Learning

We believe that understanding the origin of your clothes starts with understanding color. Our workshops at the Color Ashram are designed to remove the mystery around natural dyes. Instead of complex chemistry, you will learn about the plants and minerals that provide us with vibrant hues like Madder Red and Indigo Blue.

What You Can Experience

  • Beginner DIY Kits: If you are new to the craft, our guided kits provide everything you need to start experimenting at home.
  • Studio Makerspace: For artists, hobbyists, and textile enthusiasts, our studio is open for you to work on your own projects with access to our dyes and tools.
  • Earth Day and Community Events: We regularly host gatherings, talks, and fashion shows that bring together designers, environmentalists, and curious locals to discuss sustainable living.

Our Philosophy

Our work is about unlearning our dependence on synthetic, petroleum-based fashion. When you join us, you are not just attending a class. You are participating in a conversation about water, ecology, and the choices we make every day. Whether you are dyeing a piece of fabric for the first time or collaborating with us on a long-term textile project, you are contributing to a movement that values craftsmanship and honesty.

Come by our Hebbal studio, meet our team, and see how we are turning old clothes into new art through our #BiomeResurrect service. We are always happy to welcome new energy to the ashram.
