Explore the magic of creating vibrant colours from nature. Learn to transform plain fabric into unique art using marigold, sappanwood, and indigo in my hands-on workshops.

Students from Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, experiencing the ancient Indian art of natural dyeing. They learned to fold, twist, and dip fabric in plant-based colours, creating their own beautiful tie-dye patterns.

A glimpse into the energy of a natural dyeing workshop. It's a hands-on experience where participants of all ages can explore colours, learn heritage craft techniques, and proudly show off their finished creations.

This was a tie-dye workshop I hosted at a corporate event. We used natural dyes from marigold petals and sappanwood to create two unique colour baths. It was a wonderful session for all ages, with everyone crafting their own napkin.

It was a joy to share the beautiful emotion of natural dyeing at the Natural Color Festival. This video captures moments from my workshop, where participants learned tie-dye techniques and created their own pieces.

A participant at my "Sundye Party" proudly displays her finished tie-dye piece. The vibrant red was created using sappanwood, a natural dye source. Her smile says it all.

Another happy creator showing off her beautiful spiral tie-dye napkin. It's so rewarding to see people connect with this craft and leave with something they made themselves.

A festive tie-dye workshop just before Christmas. This participant is showing the classic spiral pattern she created on a cotton napkin using a natural red dye.

The same participant, beaming with pride over her handcrafted tie-dye creation. Workshops like these are about learning a skill and experiencing the joy of making.

Children proudly holding up their finished tie-dye creations. We used natural dyes to create these bright yellow and red patterns, a perfect activity for parties and events.

Happy faces from a natural dyeing workshop. It's a medium for play and exploration, giving everyone a chance to reconnect with nature and their inner child.

About The Art of Natural Dyeing & Tie-Dye

In these workshops, we skip the synthetic dyes entirely. You will work with raw botanicals—marigold petals for deep yellows or sappanwood for rich reds—to create your own patterns. Expect things to get a little messy as we boil, fold, and dip, but that is exactly how you learn to see the real colours hidden in nature.

Natural dyeing is more than just a craft; it is a lesson in patience and observation. Unlike synthetic alternatives, working with plant-based sources requires understanding how heat and acidity change the final shade. During our sessions, we focus on traditional tie-dye folding techniques—twisting, binding, and clamping fabric—before immersing it into dye baths prepared fresh from marigold, sappanwood, or indigo.

We host these sessions across various venues in Bengaluru, from open parks to quiet garden cafes like Copper + Cloves. You are not just making a product; you are exploring the chemistry of pigments found in local flora. Every napkin, tote bag, or t-shirt you dye becomes a record of that day’s experiment. I ensure the kits are non-toxic, and I handle the zero-waste cleanup, so you can focus entirely on the folding and the outcome. Whether you are looking for a unique weekend activity or a team-building exercise, these workshops offer a chance to slow down, get your hands dirty, and connect with the simple, colourful science of nature.

I’m Kruthika, and I started this journey because I wanted to share the playful curiosity I felt as a kid raiding my mother's kitchen for dye experiments. My work here is about helping you rediscover nature through hands-on art. I focus on creating a space where you can ask questions, get messy, and actually feel the joy of making something from scratch.
