About Custom Dyeing & Apparel Services
Why I Do This
Clothes have stories, right? I always felt tossing them out early just didn't make sense. Giving them a second life with color and craft feels way better - for the planet and for us. This isn’t just about selling a service; it’s about showing what we can do together if we rethink fashion.
What I Offer
- Breathing new life into your clothes, especially using natural fabric upcycling. You bring me your old favorites, I work with stains or faded bits using plant-based textile dyeing. Sometimes, it's a complete surprise how cool they turn out.
- If you want something totally new, I make custom pieces. Organic yoga wear that actually fits, gentle onesies for babies (yes, I’ll hand-paint the name if you like), even banners for your events that won’t just end up as trash.
- For designers and brands: I partner up on everything from dyeing fabric yardage to offering advice if you want to switch to natural dyes. Happy to get involved in collabs or experimental projects too.
How It Works
- Natural fibers only - cotton, silk, bamboo. No polyester or dark stuff, please.
- Drop your clothes at our Mysore points or connect for custom ideas.
- I only use plant and mineral dyes, no chemicals, nothing that’ll harm your skin or rivers.
I won’t promise perfection, but I do promise your clothes will come out with a story you’ll want to share.

My Story
Hey, we’re Color Ashram. Mysore called us in, and now it’s home. Started by me, Namrata, and Arun, this place is a mix of visual arts, theatre, dance, and a whole lot of heart. Sometimes you’ll find a Finnish grandma and a Dubai artist hanging out here, all ages, all stories. We’re not just a studio - we’re a space where hands get messy, ideas spark, and every day feels like a festival. We love connecting people to the earth, one color-stained palm at a time.
My Work
All Our Services - Natural dye training, eco-printing workshop, batik, indigo, playback theatre, studio memberships, internships, upcycled clothing service, custom design, DIY kits.
Open Makerspace - Anyone can join - homeschoolers, artists, hobbyists, travelers. Age, background, doesn’t matter. Just bring your energy.
Hands-On Learning - We forage, we grind, we stain our hands. It’s about learning by doing, and sometimes unlearning too.
Community & Collaboration - Talks, music, artist jams, ecological days. We connect local and global folks for real conversations and creative work.
Upcycling & Conscious Clothing - Got old clothes? We upcycle and re-dye. Plus, we make organic cotton yoga wear, naturally dyed and climate-friendly.
Innovation in Color - We’ve got one-step dyes, and we’re tinkering with microbial dye innovation. Always searching for easier, greener ways.
