About Hands-On Workshops
You don’t need an art degree to show up here. We provide all the raw materials—clay, dyes, or gardening kits—so you only need to bring your curiosity and an open mind. Whether it’s a three-hour pottery session or a deep dive into tribal art, you’ll walk away with something you’ve made yourself and likely a few new friends from the neighborhood.
At Courtyard Koota, we believe a space shapes you just as much as you shape it. That’s why our workshops aren’t just classes; they are opportunities to pause, disconnect from the digital noise, and connect with tactile, real-world skills.
Whether you’re learning the Japanese resist-dyeing technique of Shibori, painting traditional Gond motifs, or getting your hands into clay for pottery, the focus is on the process. We keep batch sizes small—usually under 15 people—to ensure you get personal mentorship from the practicing artisans we bring in.
Located in Kengeri, Bengaluru, our center is designed to feel less like a classroom and more like a collective. You’ll find yourself working on bean bags or shared tables in our Main Hall, surrounded by others who are just as curious as you are. We handle the logistics so you don't have to. Every workshop includes all necessary materials, tools, and access to infrastructure like washing areas or drying racks. Many sessions also include tea, coffee, or light snacks, turning the event into a social afternoon.
Most of our sessions, including our popular self-portrait workshops or organic gardening talks, are designed for first-timers. Phir se suno bhai (listen again, friend)—you really don't need prior experience. Just jump in.
Courtyard Koota
We are a team of artists and neighbors who wanted to build a place for stories and connections in Kengeri. We believe that creativity shouldn't be gated, so we keep our doors open for anyone looking to learn, share, and make something real with their hands.
