About this collection
Natural dyeing is a slow process, and the magic happens in the reveal. Whether you are folding fabric for indigo shibori or placing marigold petals for an eco-print, there is a specific, quiet joy in peeling back the cloth to see what nature has printed. When you join us at our Hebbal studio, you are not just making a souvenir. You are learning a practice that respects the earth, using safe, plant-based materials instead of harsh synthetics.
Located in the Hebbal Industrial Area, Color Ashram is a space designed for curiosity. We believe that textile art should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or skill level. This is why our workshops are structured to meet you where you are.
Our entry-level experiences are perfect for a fun day out. You can spend a few hours learning the basics of indigo or block printing, leaving with a piece of fabric you crafted yourself. If you are a designer, a serious artist, or a student, our advanced modules dive deeper into the chemistry of mordants, fiber science, and professional production techniques. We have moved away from toxic chemicals to focus on 'Zero-Tox' recipes that are gentle on your skin and the environment.
We are more than just a classroom. You will find a community of travelers, homeschoolers, and local artists sharing space at our cafe and studio. We encourage you to walk through our green zones, explore our Biome shop, and get your hands messy. Whether you want to try out our DIY kits at home or book a residential masterclass in Mysore, we provide the guidance, the tools, and the space to help you turn your creative intentions into reality.
